Attention K-Mart Shoppers - Don't forget to watch AI this evening, which will feature the music of Billy Joel!!! (Billy is unable to attend personally - the producers AI have been trying to work around Billy's schedule since the beginning of the show.) So he will be giving individual commentary on the songs instead.

BTW - I am still waiting on OT, Boss, AP, Jasmine (where IS she?), Sandy, Mlcar and Lizzie to pick an AI overall winner BEFORE tonight at 8:00pm psst someone explain to OT that Julia can not win anymore...she is OUT...

As I told Madonna, my vote is for Clay, using simple logic. If you search the various mp3 sharing sites for music from the various contestants, the most are from Clay. I haven't found any from my choice for runner-up - Ruben.

In a fair world, Julia will come back to the show as a special wild card and will win it all. But since the world isn't fair, Ruben will just beat Clay for the top spot. Then the AI "experts" will turn Ruben into Snoop Dogg and no one will like him anymore. It doesn't pay to win this thing.

Clay will get a record deal from someone else probably. Then next summer keep your eyes open for Beach Blanket Bingo 4 starring Clay and Ruben in roles formerly played by Annette and Frankie.

I was thinking of what Billy Joel songs would each contestant. Not what I think they should sing, mind you, just what fits them the most. This is the list I came up with:

Ruben - All About Soul (What else?)
Josh - Goodnight Saigon (In honor of his fellow marines)
Clay - The Entertainer
Ternyce - Say Goodbye to Hollywood (and say goodbye to AI)
Carmen - Uptown Girl
Kimberly Locke - Goodbye, Yellow Brick Road*
Kim C. - Movin' Out (or the mansion, after she gets voted off tonight)

*Okay, that's a stretch. It's an Elton John song, but they did perform together. It would be her homage to Somewhere Over the Rainbow.

I did my civic duty and cast my vote for Ruben. Actually, I got through and voted while they were showing Trenyce's highlight. Hmmm.
I'll not post too many comments on tonight's show --- I was bored by it. Blah blah blah. And poor Mr. Smokey Robinson looked like he was on speed. Did he ever blink?

AP, I don't think he ever blinked and I did my civic duty too voting for Josh (of course you all knew that), Ruben and if you all can believe it Kimberly L. (oh yes I casted Madonna's votes for Clay as well). I'll hold off further comment because I don't want to be accused of having spoilers.

Just finished watching the show here. It was an OK night. Here's my list of top to bottom on how I think they did.

1. Kimberly Locke
2. Clay
3. Josh
4. Ruben
5. Trenyce
6. Kimberly Caldwell
7. Carmen

I however did not place any phone votes. I voted last year and predicted Kelly would win, so this year when the show started, I vowed not to vote and just see what happens....hoping my pick will win.

I'll give more detailed comments tomorrow after everyone has watched the show.

OK...I have a couple of observations from tonight's show...

1) Smokey Robinson just looked freakish...one too many face lifts or something...or maybe just too much Botox...and I agree with AP..he never blinked...at one point I was yelling at the TV for him to blink...he was just freakin' me out

2) Ruben showed once again why he is going to be the winner...he was great!

3) Carmen should spend tonight looking for boxes and stuff...because in the words of Billy Joel..."She's Movin' Out"...Though I did think Simon's "Shut Up" comment was a bit harsh...funny, but harsh

4) Does Trenyce have to make EVERY song sound like a Whitney Houston song????? drives me nuts...She'd be my pick for this week...but Carmen is just so obvious....

5) Simon is going to do one of 2 things....
A) Marry Paula...or
B) Kill her....I can't decide which....

6) Finally.....and this is the one that will get me into trouble here... I am officially sick of Clay....I will acknowledge he has a good voice...but he does nothing for me...in fact...I hated what he did to his song tonight...after saying he was going to go away from ballads....he sings the entire first verse of an uptempo song as a freakin' ballad (and yes, I was relieved when he picked up the pace...but he still had lost me) and both my DW and I agreed with Simon about his facial expressions (in fact she's said that for a few weeks now...)
He has talent...but in my opinion...he's not the best on that show...

Anyway...just my humble opinion...

So...If you haven't guessed....my vote for the next one to go bye-bye is Carmen.....
