Hello! I have been to WDW many times in my life and I love it! I have been 3 times since Last August and am planning another trip now! My party will consist of 3 adults (possibly 4), 4 children ( ages 7, 6, 4 and 3) and one infant (that will be 10 months by travel day). We are looking for adjoining rooms as we would exceed occupancy for a suite. I have stayed at both french quarter and Caribbean beach and though they were both fantastic. I also stood at AOA and although wasn’t impressed with the food it was still an ok experience. Can anyone recommend a on property resort with this size of party?

Can you provide the breakdown of who would be in which room? How many adults/children?

We take adjoining rooms at POFQ - nice large rooms - love it there - do you mean you want to try a different resort?

Not necessarily a different resort. It will just be the first time with this big a group. I loved Art of Animation it was very kid friendly but the food was disappointing. POFQ and CB had amazing food. I honestly think POFQ Is my favorite.

Well the list of people going are my sister and I, nephews 4 and 6 niece 10 months, my cousin Sandra 46 and her son 7 and daughter 3. The older boys are going to want to stay in same rooms because they are besties. So my best guess is Room 1: sister And I with 4 year old nephew and baby Room 2: cousin with her 3 year old daughter, 7 year old son and my 6 year old nephew

First of all, you need to be careful with what you request. Adjoining rooms are simply near each other- same floor, same building etc. Connecting rooms have an interior door connecting them.
Connecting rooms are NEVER GUARANTEED. Period. No matter what a phone CM says, no matter what your confirmation says, no matter what folks here say. They are just a request. Disney will do their best to grant this request. But there are simply more requests than connecting rooms.

Thank you for the warning. I will be sure to use connecting rooms. That changes things for me, maybe this won’t work with all of us.

I don’t know what kind of budget that you’re working with, but DVC 2BR villas will accommodate a group the size of your traveling party. Renting from an owner (not booking thru Disney) at OKW can be very reasonable. Plus you would get a full kitchen and a washer/dryer, which would be a godsend with an infant and toddler. And you would be guaranteed to be together.

Thank you! I am going to look in this option!

The two bedroom villas at AKV Kidani and at BLT have three full bathrooms. At AKV you do not need savannah view. There are plenty of viewing opportunities and standard view is MUCH less expensive.

I disagree, I gladly spend the extra points to have a Savannah view and sit on my Balcony, drink my soda and watch the animals.

I understand your love of savannah view. If someone is on a tight budget, the difference in cost could be significant to them. To me, it is a lovely resort, regardless of view.

The point difference is so minimal, it is worth it. If paying cash, it may be a different story.

The 3rd bathroom and savanna views are both pluses. I suggested OKW for a couple of reasons.
  1. The resort has recently been renovated.
  2. The OKW villas are the largest in DVC
  3. The washer and dryers are full-size at OKW, compared to apartment-sized, stacking w/d at the other DVC resorts.
  4. OKW has 2 “real” beds in the 2nd bedroom of all villas, whereas many other DVC 2BRs are composed of a studio connected to a 1BR.
  5. OKW tends to require fewer points than other resorts. It is also not considered to be a “premium” resort like AKV and therefore commands a lower $/pt. price.
  6. With 3 (maybe 4) adults and 4 young children, the need for a 3rd bathroom is not as great as it is for a family with more adults and/or teenagers. The kids can be bathed at night. Adults can easily shower in the morning without much trouble.

Just to set proper expectations, connecting rooms are not guaranteed. No matter what anyone tells you, no matter what any paperwork says they are definitely not guaranteed. They will do everything they can to grant your request of connecting rooms, but it just might not happen.
