wdw uberplanner needs some help with dlr

hi everyone, ihave beenplanning our november first time trip for DLR for several months now, but am having a hard time deciding on whether to do a tour or not. It will be me, DH, and DS (7) for 5 full park days. i want to do the holiday tour, but wondered what the other tours offerd in terms of rides access? does anyone have recent experience with any of the tours? is the walk in walts footsteps still giving you a look inside his apartment? do i go solo or would my son like the tours? Thanks so much!

I think some of the tours have age limits, but I don't think the holiday tour does. There were a number of kids on the one we did a few years ago.

OP, if you haven't done it before, the Holiday tour is great. It gave us quick access to 3 rides on a very busy day (HMH, JC and IASWH). When we did it, it also had reserved seating for the Christmas parade. It was worth it just for those things, but the tour itself was interesting as well.

I agree with everything @mom2rtk said. We LOVED the Holiday tour! Definitely worth it for our group of adults. There was a 4 year old on our tour in a full Elsa costume who did get bored periodically though.

Whether your son will enjoy the tour (and we love the Holiday tour, too!) depends on how he does with these kind of things. We take the tour every year, and some years there are younger kids who love participating and are well behaved the whole time (several hours plus parade time). Other years there are kids/teens who whine and complain the w.h.o.l.e time, driving everyone else in the group to distraction. One year, a group of older kids just took off, stalling the whole group while the parents tried to locate their kids. Try taking your son on other tours before your trip (e.g. museum, famous landmark, etc.) to see how he does and to help him along as needed.

Reports on the boards here were that Walt's apartment was taken off the tour and the Dream Suite has been substituted in. But I think it was a few months back that I last read that.

Also note that if someone is staying in the Dream Suite, it won't be on the tour.

I also recommend the Holiday Tour - it was fantastic. I have not been on any other tours though, so I can't compare.
