WDW Tours for those in ECV?

I'm doing a solo trip. I have cancer so can't walk the full Disney World Days like I used to, so I'm renting an ECV. Its going to be 8 park days, so I thought I might try doing one of the tours, but most seem to require walking.

I've already done Marceline to Magic Kingdom (before cancer), and Keys to the Kingdom (with cancer on ECV). I thought about Wild Africa Trek, but that looks like too much walking.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I don’t have answers for you but in my 25+ years on this board, yours is one of the best questions that I’ve read. It’s such a relevant query and I imagine many ECV users will be following along. I don’t use an ECV but if there were tours that were ECV accessible it would open up so many possibilities for people that do.

Great post!

My mom uses a scooter and she really enjoyed doing the Up Close with Rhinos tour. It wasn't too long of a tour and she could take her scooter backstage before she boarded the bus. There were benches where she could sit until it was time for her turn to go up and meet the rhino so it wasn't physically taxing for her. She really wanted to do the Wild Africa Trek but I think it would be too much for her and both of our balance problems. Curious to know what other tours others suggest? I know when we did the Rhino tour, one of the other guests suggested we do the Safari tour (sorry. can't remember which one it was).

We did Savor the Savanna with out ECV user. He couldn't walk much and it was great. He took his ECV to the backstage area near the truck, boarded the truck for the private/small group safari leaving the ECV behind, after the safari we arrived at the platform in the middle of the Savanna for the snacks part (this was basically a meal, wine and beer included too) where he walked about 20 seconds to the seating area. He had to get up to get the food from the table nearby and drinks, everything within a few steps of the table. The longest walk was to the back of the platform area to see the lions which he passed on and even that would only have been about a 1 minute walk at his very slow pace (but no seating in the lion viewing area). (If you do this one do the first tour, animals start going in by the second.) After they made sure to have his ECV waiting near the truck where we were dropped off, the CMs were very aware of his mobility situation and I communicated it to them ahead of time when they emailed me about a week before the tour. Idk if you find yourself on dietary restrictions but they also do allergy/dietary restrictions. He was low sodium at the time and no dairy and they gave him a wonderful selection of more than he could eat.

Wild Africa Trek looks like a nightmare for an ECV user with very limited mobility, like it literally has swinging rope bridges.

Behind the Seeds at Epcot is great! There might be a few places where an ECV might be challenging (fish tanks), but you should be able to nearly everything.
Totally forgot about this one! We did this one as well with the ECV. My one criticism about this is that the group we were with were a bit inconsiderate and blocked the view of my mom in her ECV--they all went in front of her and then proceeded to stand in front of her. She's hard of hearing despite wearing hearing aids so she was quite disappointed in the tour. So much so that by the time it came to get our picture in front of one of the trees shaped like Mickey, you could clearly see the frustration on her face in the picture. YMMV. It was definitely an interesting tour but definitely a one-and-done for us. especially as now I'll be using a wheelchair (of course, I'm more vocal about saying excuse me and wheeling in front if I can't see).
