WDW to Savannah GA????

Dsis wants to see Savannah. We will be driving home to Michigan from disney. Neither of us have been before. I did mapquest and the drive looks fine. Mapquest has us travling 77 home after Savannah. I have never driven 77. Any suggestions for our day visit to Savannah. Also any advice about traveling 77 or is it like driving 75. I love the moutains, will we have great veiws along the way. Dson recently moved to the Erwin Tn. area. Will we be close driving down 77. Thanks Susan

In Savannah, its my favorite city to visit. Google Savannah Ga. and it will give you thier web site with activities and hotels. Hope you are staying a night or 2 as it is a very nice city. As far as 77 I can't help you there, but make sure you have other options.

Not sure about the proximity to Erwin, Tn... but 77 is a gorgeous drive. There are lots of scenic views. If you like crafts and such, be sure to stop in Beckley, WV at the Tamarack (it is an exit all in itself with gas station and food court) Enjoy the drive- We will be taking it next month!

What ever you do don't stay at the days inn in savannah. We flew in to see Savannah right before going to HHI last year and we booked Days because we figured how bad could it be? Plus it was only to sleep since our flight was so late. Well it was BRUTAL. I felt like I was in a crack house. It was scary! The location is awesome but the staff and the room condition and the smells were BRUTAL!
