Hi! I'm looking for the driving distance from OKW to HHI and the distance from I-95 into HH.

We will need to stop over night (somewhere) on our trip back to NY from WDW and we're trying to figure out if it will be worth (as in giving up the points vs $ at a motel) the stop at HHI on our way home. Don't know if I want to "waste" the points for only a few hours stay, but would really like to see the resort - scope it out for a future stay. While we have driven to WDW many times in the past, we've never been to HH and have no idea of the distance. Also, we usually drive straight home from Myrtle Beach, but this is a little farther

We're not sure when we will be leaving from WDW :( on Friday - most likely in the afternoon (3ish, but will be willing to adjust accordingly) and then getting on the road around 9:00 the next morning. We're just looking for a place to spend the night - not really to spend any time here. We have the points to use, but would anyone else do it? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :jester:

It's 4 hrs from WDW to Savannah normally but thats subject to change due to the amount of road construction that day. I-95 is a work zone from just south of Savannah to the state line basically and then in Fl from Jacksonville to Daytona. Don't know about Fl troopers but GSP will let you do 80mph if they aren't actually working in the area.

It's less thn an hr from Savannah to HH.

Leaving Orlando at that time of day, I hope you have the patience of Job. Unless you have to have DVC, there are plenty of beautiful hotels in downtown Savannah and you could definitely be back on I-95 from Savannah quicker than HH, and stay in a beautiful city.

Hilton head is too nice of a place for a stop off for one night. You will not want to leave. The resort is not made to be rush, rush, but slow and easy. It is a good 25-45 min from I-95 anyway. (this time is based on traffic) I would not waste the points for a few hours. Don't worry about checking out the resort for a future stay either. Just book it blindly and you are sure to be charmed.

I tend to agree, for a night I don't think it's worth it as you would want to leave first thing in order to get back on the road. It's a great resort and I would certainly say for a 2 night stay and enjoy the resort it makes a nice way to finish a vacation with a little relaxation. It's usually takes me about 6 hours from WDW.

Thanks guys for your advice. I think we'll pass at stopping at HH this trip and just keep going. :( I knew that just stopping along I-95 was the easiest, I just thought I could squeeze out a little extra vacation. Oh well ... I've still got 39 more years to get there!

I appreciate all the input.
