WDW time again... complete trip photos finally posted!

Groucho ... Sorry to hear all of you got it. Hope you are all well soon and can enjoy the remainder of your trip!

Ugh! So sorry to hear the bug has made it's way through the whole family! I hope you're all feeling better soon. How much longer are you there?

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the concern. We leave tomorrow around mid-day. (Our flight is at 3:30 or so IIRC.)

Last night was one of the worst times I've ever had in my life. I ended up vomiting every 20 minutes or so, I think it was ended up being ten times. This was definitely worse than my wife or Jack got! This carried on until, oh, 5am or so. I just rolled out of bed a few minutes ago and feel a little bit better. I don't think I'm going to vomit any more but I am extremely sore all over and exhausted. I do have a little bit of an appetite; I've been drinking water since maybe 9am or so and ate a Nilla Wafer and it's all stayed down.

It was late enough last night that my wife and Jack just went to bed, too. Right now, they're on their way back from Downtown Disney, having done the usual big World of Disney shopping trip (which I am really bummed that I had to miss.) We are probably all going to head to MK after that if I feel up to it. We have Crystal Palace reservations for tonight, it would be nice to be able to make it. My wife feels almost 100% today and mentioned that she's starved. Jack seems fine, too. MK is only open until 8, so we certainly won't be staying out any later than that.

In the morning, the plan is to hit MK for 2-3 hours until we need to come back to catch our bus to the airport. Apparently, I'm highly contagious for at least 48 hours so I am going to warn my boss not to expect me at work on Wednesday.

What model Tom-Tom do you have? We don't have one yet. Any model that shows monorail tracks gets bonus points in my book! :)

And is that a bucket hat I see on your head in reflection on the train sign shot?
It's a 720, which I recently picked up from Best Buy for $180. With a free firmware update, it's apparently exactly the same as the 730 which sells for about $350. Apparently you can even load the 740/940 software on it (the hardware is the same) but then you're getting into some questionable legality.

Yes, that my usual bucket hat that I wear when I'm going to be out photographing. It's a bit beat up and not exactly a fashion statement - but hey, I'm appalled by some of the footwear and sunglasses people are wearing here, so I'm not too concerned about looking trendy. (I am pretty sure all those women wearing enormous sunglasses are going to be very embarrassed when they look back at pictures of themselves a couple years from now, when they're not trendy any more! Even Linda Carter in the '70s wouldn't wear some of those things! :crazy2: )

Man, that stinks that all of you guys have been sick during your trip. Hope you get back up to speed soon and somehow enjoy the last part of your trip to some degree.

Some new pics, this gets us current. BTW I had said that this wasn't a photography-centric trip and the numbers seem to bear it out... last trip, I had over 4k pics over 7 days (and I was sick for a few of those!) After 7 days here, I've barely cracked 2k.

I brought along my fairly-new Tomtom just for fun, I was impressed that it even has the monorail tracks on its map. :lmao:

Groucho....very cool about the TomTom.......in the "Trains" pic, what kind of hat do you have on? I am always looking for new and different hats to wear at WDW.

Thanks for the pics.

Oh, Groucho, I missed that part too! Congrats!!!!! I hope your DW has a healthy pregnancy!

Groucho, I am a photographer by trade and wanted to say how much I like your images. You have a very good eye for composition and have an excellent knack knowing the right focal length for the subject matter you are shooting. Excellent stuff!

It's a Subaru World Rally Team hat, actually a commemorative one for their driver Richard Burns winning the championship in 2001. They haven't sold it for a few years (they don't sell anything now, in a shock development Subaru pulled out of the WRC a couple weeks ago, which I am brokenhearted about!)... I found a place with a picture of it here (minus the Richard Burns stitching on one side).

Sorry for your rotten night- but hey- Congratulations on this! :goodvibes

Congrats Groucho (I just read Jeff's reply) and glad you are feeling better.

Has anybody here seen this thread?? It could explain what is happening at WDW.

Thanks guys! This one has been going very smoothly and we don't expect a repeat of any issues that we had before. Let's hope so, I am anxious to get this whole pregnancy thing over once and for all; it's a bit stressful and we're stopping at two so this will be the last one! It's a girl, BTW, her name is Leila. Jack is very, very excited about being a big brother and made sure we bought a toy for her while we were here!

Evad, Pea-n-me pointed me to that thread (she's in WDW now too, we probably would have met up if I weren't so sick); it does sound like lots of people have been getting the norovirus. All over the place I think, not just WDW.

Thanks Bob!

This will probably be the last update on site. We're packing up now. I finally rolled out of bed at 5pm yesterday and was at MK by 5:45 (I forgot that our Crystal Palace reservations were at 5:30 not 6:30! I was still very tired and feeling "off" but was able to hold Jack while we watched Wishes. We also had maybe the best Jungle Cruise ride I've ever had, the skipper was great and had several jokes I hadn't heard before. We hopped on the monorail so I could buy a Contemporary Resort toy monorail accessory then back to the room. Now my wife is getting annoyed because I'm typing instead of getting ready. Gotta go. :)

i was so caught up in the "puking" i didn't see the good news either! congrats and hope everything goes great

Congrats on #2! :)

I'll have to keep that Tom-Tom on our list then, thanks.

:rotfl: Agreed!! Congrats and great name for the new addition to the family!

Groucho -

Big congrats to you and Mrs. Groucho! Can't wait for baby photos! Love those little fingers and toes!

(pretty sneaky just slipping that little tid bit into your trip report! See, we do pay attention)

Thanks everyone! We're pretty happy about Leila. (Pronounced like "Lila".) I had actually announced way back when, when #2 was underway... 12 weeks later, we lost it so I just didn't say anything more about it. The next one got to 20 weeks, which was really tough. This one is farther along and we'd had zero issues (we'd have a couple in the previous ones) so we're feeling confident at this point. I'll let y'all know come May. ;) Like I said, the losses were tough but my wife is tough as nails (though she'd never admit it) and we're doing fine now, looking forward.

We're back home safe and sound now... uneventful trip back. One thing that's kind of funny - I knew that we'd have some leftover snack credits because of the time we were sick. Well, we checked before heading to MK... and along with three counter service ones, we had 10 snack credits left! :rotfl2:

So... we headed to the Main St Bakery (my favorite bakery ever!) and got three "breakfasts" to wipe out the counter service credits. I'm generally not a big fan of egg sandwiches, but their egg/cheese/ham croissants are excellent! Along with those, you get a pastry as part of the counter service... At the end of the day, we now have in our kitchen...
2x peanut butter sandwiches (from the candy counter, these are like the old PB Max candy if anyone remembers those, which I looooved, a square of peanut butter on a shortbread cookie surrounded by chocolate, also similar to the peanut butter Twix they used to sell, not the new ones with an (ugh) chocolate cookie inside)
1x cherry turnover
1x apple turnover
1x chocolate croissant (I think that's what you call them? this one's not for me!)
2x Mickey rice crispie treat
3x huge cookie (the kind at the candy counters, not the ones from the bakery - ie, $3 instead of $2! peanut butter, snickerdoodle, chocolate chip)
4x cinnamon roll. No surprise there. :teeth: 3 are in the freezer for later enjoyment

There was an extra in there as the woman at the bakery undercharged us one snack credit even though I said a few times how many we were using. Oh well, it evens out for us barely eating at a couple of the buffets. :) Either way - we'll have some yummy treats for the next week or so! If my sickness goes the same as everyone else's, I'll be back to full appetite tomorrow, just in time. I'm planning on one of those turnovers come morning!

Mmmmm for the rice crispie treats. Double mmmmm for the cinnamon roll (based solely on seeing the pictures of how many you ate in your last TR since I've never had them---but they look SO GOOD). :thumbsup2

Wow! You'll be eating Disney food for another week! Next time we do the dining plan, I'm loading up on those rice crispie treats before we head home!
