On a trip a few years ago to WDW as a family we purchased a free dining package and I had an AP so we did not use one of our tickets. The extra park ticket (2 day non-hopper) is on a KTTW card with my husband's name I think. I know normally you can use WDW tickets for DL but the card has his name on it. I paid for the package and I also have my KTTW. I can bring both cards but I wasn't sure what would happen if the ticket is on his card which is how I remember it happening--there was lots of confusion switching me to an AP and we had those Voluntear tickets and FPs the same day. Hopefully it will be OK but if it's not what happens? I'm going on a day during Spring Break and I'd hate to have to go all the way back out to buy tickets if they don't allow the use; will they be able to let me buy a ticket at the gate?

Did you purchase the non experiation tickets when you went to WDW? If not then they have expired and aren't good anymore.

Most often when you use WDW tickets for DL, the CM at the turnstyle will have to bring over a manager to help make sure the tickets are valid and issue you a DL ticket using one WDW day's credit. Since a lead will be ther it may help if there is confusion if the credits are only on DHs ticket.

If you need to buy a new ticket you will probably have to go back to the ticket booths.

WDW tickets expire 14 days after 1st use unless you purchased the non-expiring option. If you had a multi-day pass but never used any of the days then they do not expire.

On our recent WDW trip we too had a package, free dining etc. On our last day we upgraded our MYW tickets on our KTTW cards to AP's. We now have WDW KTTW cards with our names on them that are AP's. We are going to Disneyland next month and will upgrade them to the Premier card which is an AP good at both DL and WDW.

I'm reading it like the tickets are unused so the no expire issue is moot. OP since tickets don't "belong to anyone" until they are used you should be fine. It may take some explaining to the lead making the exchange but it should be fine.

Thanks all! The ticket is totally unused so I know it's not expired. Can I do the exchange at guest services or the regular ticket window? That way if they can't make it work it will be easy to buy another ticket. Also how early do these windows open? I'm going on a 7am MM day the 1st day! Luckily east coast time will help me out ;)

I thought it had to be done at the gate, but if you get there early they can probably do it while you are waiting for the park to open.
