WDW rooms and cribs?

Hello - can anyone with little one's confirm for me wheather or not you can get an actual crib in your room in any WDW hotel.

In 1998 at Dixie Landings we were able to get a real crib, but it was the kind with the metal bars. I dont like those(possibly because they remind me of DS being in the hospital at 5 weeks old), so we just put DS in bed with us. He was 15 months at the time. Since then when we have gone with our younger DS, we have been able to get a pack and play, which I much prefer.

You actually can't get a full-size crib at any WDW resort, like the one you have at home. All cribs that are offered at a WDW resort are port-a-cribs. They are abut the same size as a pack-n-play but are raised off the floor and look like a crib. They have an immovable mattress, which is set at a VERY low setting. Also, the sides are also immovable, making it very difficult to place a sleeping baby in. I personally found these to be very flimsy looking (the mattresses are very thin) and if your child is older than 1, they won't work, again the flimsy thing. Most port-a-cribs are only rates to hold children up to 20lbs, where a pack n play will hold kids much larger. If you need a true full-size crib, you can rent one from an offsite company. One mentioned here frequently on the DIS is www.abbf.com Here is a picture of what the crib would look like at any WDW resort. It's the same size as a pack-n-play, so keep that in mind.

Well - the crib is not for me, it's for someone I know who is heading down...so I don't have one at home...guess I should have told you that...lol...
