When we charge everything to the room, like using the MB, is the credit card charge classified as "hotel" charge? So that would be under Travel category? Cuz on my AMEX get 2% back for Travel, so wondering if all my room charges (food, stores, etc) will count?
Since it would be charged all in one large amount then it would just be one category and not be separate charges for food, etc.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it just says WDW on the one charge amount.

I'm not sure about AMEX, but it was categorized as "travel" on my Discover Card.

1) If you apply everything to the room, the code will be 7011-Lodging.
2) On the card, it would be listed as Travel.
3) If you purchase things with directly the AMEX card, the codes would be
. . . 7996-Amusement Parks (tickets)
. . . 5812-Restaurants (table service)
. . . 5814-Fast Food (quick service)
. . . 5912-Drug Stores (if you need scripts from Turner Drugs)
. . . 5993-Cigar Stores (cigar stores at DTD)
. . . 5899-General Merchandise (most Disney stores)
4) There are other stores and classifications, but I need to know your purchases.
5) Of course, YOU can't see the codes, just the generic group on the credit card summaries.

NOTE: For extra miles awards, charge EVERYTHING against the room.

Awesome, thanks!! Yay, saving 2% on everything is pretty cool. :)

It was all under "hotel" on my Venture card in October. That's capital one though, not amex.

1) The classification "hotel" is what your card uses as a grouping.
2) When you look at summaries, "hotel" is an easy term.
3) When the coding went from the cash register, it would be the "7011".
4) Kind of like shopping at Walmart.
. . . people think they can get 2% grocery rewards for food purchases
. . . but, Walmart registers are coded "5310 Discount Stores"
. . . the "5310" is only credited as 1% rewards with most cards
