WDW rides at night

Wow sooo many good tips, but can someone direct me to the what all the abbreviations mean!! I'm a newbie and don't understand!!!

I love Test Track at night - we usually go in the summer, so the outside loop is a bit hot during the day (even with the wind) but really elegant at night!

Any of the attractions that have an outside part are really cool at night, even the tea cups (and I don't like the tea cups!)

RnRC- Rock n Roller Coaster
ToT- Tower of Terror
HM- Haunted Mansion
TTA- Tomorrowland Transportation Authority (aka the Peoplemover)
BTMRR- Big Thunder Mountain Rail Road
MK- Magic Kingdom
AK- Animal Kingdom
HS- Hollywood Studios
JC- Jungle Cruise

Think that covers it. Somewhere on the FAQ or something of this site they have an abbreviation guide. You pick it up pretty quickly. And welcome to the DIS!

Splash mountain
Big thunder mountain

And although its not an outdoor ride-haunted mansion. Just the feel of the creepy old mansion at night is cool. Disney at night is just awesome in general. It just "feels" different.

I have beautiful shots of Snow White's Scary Adventures (alas, no longer with us) from the carousel at night. Awesome carousel ride, second only to riding the "haunted carousel" at our zoo at Halloween. Everything looks so pretty in the dark!

Simply walking around the parks at night is a different feel! :) Anything outdoors in MK is especially great to do at night. I've never done Expedition Everest at night but it's on our to-do list!

Thunder Mountain Railroad at night. Nice.

Thunder Mountain Railroad at night during fireworks? SWOOOOOOOOOON.

My favorite. In 2009 we rode 4 times during firworks on same night. No line, no wait. We still like to talk about it.

Future World at Epcot is beautiful at night. We love going on Spaceship Earth numerous times at night - the sparkly sidewalks, the moving light sidewalk area, and the beautiful colors on SE itself make it all feel so magical. Just walking around from pavilion to pavilion is wonderful.

Good one, Stargazertechie! I forgot Living With The Land. That is a totally different experience at night. I agree it is quite beautiful in the greenhouses at night.

I've only ridden one ride during fireworks (that I've noticed, anyways) and that was Magic Carpets. It was pretty cool.

I have done plenty at night, with Splash being my favorite, but Haunted Mansion is a close 2nd.

Already countless mentions, but Splash Mountain is wonderful at night. In fact, for the first 4 or 5 years that I rode it, I rode it *only* at night, and had no idea that the queue was actually open to the sky above. Sad but true.

Astro Orbiter is much better at night as is Dumbo in my opinion. I like Splash Mountain at night too. I always feel like they are completely different experiences at night than they are during the day

Astro-Orbiter is what immediately popped into my head. But the view just before the log falls on Splash at night is really something. Once I hit it just as the sky was filled with fireworks and it was super!

We loved Astro Orbiter at night. My son (who is too short to be seen in front of his father in the red shirt there) declared it his favorite ride in all of WDW.

As many have said, Splash and BTMRR are different experiences at night. BTMRR is one of my favorites..that ride just makes me laugh, but it was a little creepy at night. You cannot see where you are going. It was definitely more thrilling!

Tomorrowland Transit Authority is a great one to ride at night. Last time we were there it was a nightly ritual. And we actually did a few loops on it one night when it was really slow and my wife wanted to do Space Mountain a few times.

Dumbo is also great.

Jungle Cruise.

Splash Mountain.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

Love the new Fantasyland at night! Highlight of our last trip... :) Dumbo is beautiful lighted up and as others have stated the feel around the "world" is totally different at night. My DS will be almost 10 on our next trip and I'm hoping he doesn't poop out just as its getting dark! :). Also love Main Street and World Showcase... Not rides but awesome ambiance. Have a great time!!

I agree sooo much!!! It is a different place when the sun goes down! Love jungle cruise at night and people mover!! All rides seem better at night to me, not sure why but the parks are great at night. Epcot may be my favorite night park.
