Hi Everyone

Travelling to WDW in just under a month, really excited :-) with 9 year old twin boys.

What are the best rides to go on at night? i have read that its a completely different experience compared to the day, just hoping that someone can give us a list of rides at different parks.

Many thanks...

Astro Orbiter is much better at night as is Dumbo in my opinion. I like Splash Mountain at night too. I always feel like they are completely different experiences at night than they are during the day

My favorite used to be the Animal Kingdom at night, but they took away EMH there :( Kali River Rapid was awesome.

Anyway, I would add to the list above Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Tower of Terror and Test Track. Basically anything that has an outside component is a different experience at night. Splash Mountain is the really cool at night.

Cast members at Haunted Mansion are spookier at night, even though it's an indoor ride. To me it has a different vibe at night.

I love to ride the People Mover at Night!! It gives a great view of the lighted Magic Kingdom. We make sure to do this at least once a trip.

BTMRR and EE are so much better at night! You have to be quick, but the view from the top of EE is spectacular. I also find that Jungle Cruise is more 'believable' at night!

The Tomorrowland Transit Authority is a different ride experience at night.
The night ride makes the MK more magical. All buildings outlined by lights and the colorful castle is just beautiful.

I have been on both Dumbo and Splash Mountain during the fireworks, and they took my breath away. I highly recommend nighttime touring, mostly because it's cooler! :goodvibes

Have a great trip. Your twins are at a fun age.

Jungle Cruise is a totally different experience at night! If you are ever to hear a CM go off book, this would be the time! Also if you ever get a chance to ride Everest in the dark... it is amazing!

I love JC at night so disappointed it will be closed in Sept when we go!!!

ASMU/POR Dec 16-22, 2012 & CR Sept 8-15, 2013

For sure, dumbo, HM, Splash, and PotC are better at night I think.

I also agree with the People Mover. There is nothing better after a long day at the parks than relaxing on the TTA watching Cinderella's Castel change colors. Can't be beat!

Haunted Mansion is creepier at night because it's already dark outside before you go in. You know it really is nighttime, not just simulated nighttime inside the ride. Venturing into a haunted house at night is a lot scarier than during the day.

Another ride with simulated night scenes... PotC! Suspension of disbelief is easier when you know the midday sun isn't beating down in reality.

TTA is fun at night. Besides the views, it is cooler (temperature-wise... often a nice breeze) and seems a little faster (but that's just my imagination).

Splash, BTMRR, JC, and even TOT. In general I like all the parks way better at night, the lights there give the entire park a new feel its pretty amazing.

It has been said already but any of the rides have a different "feel" at night.

Just a real fun place to be at night. Your family will have a blast!!!!:thumbsup2

I agree with the poster that said the HM at night, the castmembers are way creepier! We rode right at midnight one night with probably about 10 other people total in the stretching room, the cast member freaked us all out!

Other than HM my nighttime favorites are Splash Mountain, BTMRR, TTA, EE (when they had extra magic hours at aK) and ToT.

Splash Mountain is by far my favorite nighttime ride though, especially during the fireworks. It's amazing to come around the corner and see the fireworks over the castle!

Seconding the Jungle Cruise! It takes on a feeling of excitement you just don't get in the daytime.

All the really dark dark rides like the Haunted Mansion are better at night; you see more because your eyes are already adjusted to the dark when you walk in.

Ditto! It's especially cool during the fireworks.
Also, Jungle Cruise & Big Thunder Mountain are must-do's in the dark.

I know it's not a ride, but I love the World Showcase at Epcot at night. The different lights really make it feel more authentic, IMO.

Definitely ToT.... The view is amazing and way different when the doors open.....
