Do most of the restaurants take the Disney reward card? I'm wondering if we should just use that for our meals instead of the dining plan. By the time our trip is here this fall, we will have about $500 on the rewards card and I just don't think we'll need close to that much for souvenirs and alcoholic bevvies like I had first planned. I'm wondering if we should cancel DDP and just pay OOP for our food.

Or, another question--how long are those reward dollars good for before they expire? (I'm sure that answer is somewhere in the teeny print on my brochure, but laying my hands on it right now is a different story!)

Thanks!

Once your reward points are on your rewards card, they expire as soon as the rewards card does. If you still have points in your Visa account (you haven't put them on a rewards card yet), they will tell you on your bill when they expire. I know, that doesn't really help, does it?!?!?!

Yes, all the table service restaurants take the rewards card. The counter service ones probably do, too.

Wow! $500.00-that's impressive. $50,000 in charges, or did you accumulate points through some kind of promotion? Hope you don't mind me asking.

No, I don't mind you asking because we're certainly not rich!! We have a vending business and I talked my husband into placing all our snack and drink orders on the Disney Visa!:rotfl: So, it's all from business supplies, not shoe shopping or anything! I thought it would be a good way to earn our spending money for Disney trips, since we really wouldn't use other types of rewards like Sky Miles as often, or at least as predictably as we would Disney rewards.

I also just took time to read the fine print on the last statement and the reward dollars don't expire for 5 years, so I'm okay. I was breaking a sweat there for a minute, afraid they were only good for a year or something. Whew! Thanks for the replies!

Hey, that's smart thinking! Good for you! Hmm....I need a business..:lmao:

:goodvibes We used our rewards card last year at Disney and had no problems. We used them at Character meals, counter service, souvenier places, photos, ect. ect. They even print your rewards balance on your receipt each time you make a purchase. That really helped us to keep track of how much we had left. I had just paid our credit card before we left for Disney, so some of my reward points had not posted to my account yet. I called the number on my Disney Reward card, during our vacation and they immediately transfered the balance to our card. After we got home, we started putting all of our household expenses on our Disney cards. We should have around $600 for our next trip in a year.

The only restaurant where I was not able to use the rewards card was at Rainforest Cafe. I had forgotten it wasn't Disney owned. But I used it at all the Disney owned restaurants I tried (approx. 8) without any trouble.

Does anyone know if the DDRD are good at Bippity BOppity Boutique? We, too have over $500 and I thought I might treat my DD4 to the castle package if it would work.

I see no reason at all why you can't use them there. As long as it is owned by Disney than you are OK. You could always call the number listrd for Disney rewards and ask them.

The Rewards card is not accepted at the restaurants at the Swan and Dolphin (and you can't charge to your room from those restaurants either). Oddly enough though, it is accepcted at the gift shops in those hotels.
