For me, Kona I see all about breakfast and those pineapple-macadamia nut pancakes! Although dinner is popular, too. There are plenty if non-fish options... like sticky wings and potstickers.

I agree! Breakfast is really where they make their name. But it is still a great restaurant for lunch and dinner as well.

For my family, not at all! We go for the steak, lamb chops (which they no longer have on the menu ) and noodles. They make great Asian/Polynesian style entrees!

What a great list, Yahweh! This helps me make a lot of decisions for our upcoming trip.

And, I'll make an observation: I noticed many restaurants in the middle of the pack had several people rank them in their top 5. I'm guessing that means that not as many have been to those restaurants, but of the ones that have, they considered them one of their favorites.

And, Hollywood and Vine actually had someone rank them in their top 5 - one man's trash is another man's treasure!

I think that looking at top 5 is a good idea because then the lesser known restaurants might stand out more.

Some thoughts:

- Tiffins will no doubt end up MUCH higher on future polls. I assume it's pretty low because so many of us haven't had the chance to enjoy it yet (I know I will finally be eating there in September!).
- Surprised that Le Cellier ended up in the top 3 signature restaurants.
- Really thought Jiko would end up higher. I know people love California Grill but would have guessed those two would have switched placements.
- Beautiful top 3. Love the Boma love! Sanaa should be higher, IMO.
- What is it that people love about Sci-Fi!?

To me, SciFi gets a high rating on the unique atmosphere and a decent bang for the buck if you pay OOP.
The exact food and prices at a "typical" restaurant would probably score lower.

STK is last? Surprising! It's pricey but the food is really good and a lot of locals go there.

Surprised that ESPN and House of Blues are so low. ESPN is a great sports bar with good food, and we eat at House of Blues every trip.

Then again, uif you're going for a week or less you might not want to hang out in a sports bar. We go for two weeks at a time, and I need at least one night to catch up on my sports.
