Hi. Can someone provide a brief rundown on how the price ranges listed for restaurants translates to times of the year? I assume holiday periods are the highest priced, but are busier times like summer also higher than at other times? Have these price variations stayed fairly consistent from year to year?

Thanks!

Only buffets or AYCTE experiences fluctuate in price based on time of the year. Yes busiest seasons (like Christmas, Spring Break, Summer) tend to have the highest prices.

Ok thanks. It was a buffet style restaurant I had been looking at, 'Ohana, and saw the dinner price on another site listed as a range of $38.20-44.59. Hence, the question as to when you would see the higher versus lower price.

Thanks again for your replies.

With Ohana, the range is breakfast vs. dinner, child vs. adult.

Looks like you're citing allears prices when you show the $38-$44 range. They'll list separate prices for each meal, but the range reflects the seasonal price variations. (Despite what allears says, I know of no cases where prices change based on day of the week.)
Note that this is different from the prices on the disney site, which simply places all restaurants into one of four price ranges, and the range doesn't give any actual details about the price.

Disney does list the ranges but if you select the "view menu" option you can select breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack depending on the place and what meals they are open for and it will give you the menus which has the pricing for each item the majority of the time. Buffet/aycte/fixe prixe meals/places typically will just show the ranges with the actual menu not showing the price of the whole meal.

This is for 50s Prime Time Cafe just as an example:

This is for 'Ohana:

Ooops I thought you were looking for a more sarcastic answer - they range from mildly expensive to wildly expensive.:scared:

That was a big improvement, for as far as it went. Those ranges over the years have caused so much confusion, especially with meals in the next highest bin that tops out at 59.99. Folks with less experience were panicking that $37 character meals were going to cost them over $60.

I agree with that and can see where that would throw someone completely off. I've been tracking menu pricing and options since last year so the information has been there at least since then. I do like the DIS thread (already mentioned above) for the prices for the buffet/aycte/fixe prixe because it has more up to date information if you're not actually at WDW to see and Disney's website doesn't list the actual price.

Personally I don't take Disney's website as the 100% guaranteed accurate (especially for the exact price of the food item on the menu) since I suppose menus could change before they have time/choose to update them on their website but it's a good guide for sure.
