WDW Resort shower heads

Just no. As another poster pointed out, what if he messed up and ended up flooding the room and the rooms around you? Would he pay to move the guests, and give them a few thousand for the trouble? I would tell him it is out of the question.

I can understand why your hubby would want better water pressure. NOTHING upsets me more than getting out of the nasty muggy heat and then stepping into the shower to wash off the sweat and grease only to feel a light spray...showers are so therapeutic and relaxing, it's a total let down when the shower head and water pressure sucks. Call me a diva, I like showers and enjoy high water pressure! No shame in my game.

HOWEVER, last time I was on property, I stayed at POFQ, and the water pressure was great and the water temps were awesome. I like to take really hot showers and within a minute or so the room was filled with steam. I think your hubby will be just fine. Even though I can relate to his concerns, he can probably make the shower head work that comes in the room. By the end of the day, you'll be so tired anyways, you'll just be happy to be off your feet. Don't sweat the small stuff!

We just stayed at POFQ unfortunately I think this has changed... really our only complaint was the shower head/water pressure. They installed rainfall shower heads in the reno and it was a struggle to get the shampoo rinsed out of our (admittedly thick) hair.

Still, I wouldn’t swap the shower head! We do bring our own pretty much everything else though, lol.

No, a guest does not have the right to modify plumbing any more than they do electrical wiring. It’s partmof the hotels infrastructure and you can not modify it. As a hotelier, I can tell you if you modify something like that and it causes any sort of damage you will be charged for the repairs and likely banned from the hotel. You may even be charged with mischief or other offence. Those are the real risks. Since you have no authorization to modify your room’s plumbing just don’t do it.

OK - done this.... at SEVERAL hotels.

To answer the original question: threads on WDW shower heads are standard. You CAN bring a drilled out shower head with standard threads, and a set of pliers, swap out the head, then put it back before checking out. Yup, the difference is stunning :).

I no longer do this, because I'm old and lazy :).

Edit: "drilled out shower head" per US standards. Most are "low flow". Buy a cheap shower head at Lowes. Drill out the restrictor with about a 3/8" bit (all plastic, easy). Bingo: real 1962 shower head :).

I don't think the question was about the ability to change it out, rather if you are breaking any rules if you do. And yes, you are.

And maybe it makes me mean, but I hope when guests try and pull something like that, they get caught and kicked out. It is beyond ridiculous to think it is ok to go to a resort and tamper with their plumbing.

Recently got back and funny because I came on here to find out what showerheads they use. I was shocked at the volume and pressure and that was staying at both AoA and CBR. I had actually wondered if maintainance had tampered with them to reduce clogging or something. It was like a shower circa 1995.

One of my old co-workers used to travel with his own shower head and vise grip pliers. Not sure how many posters have changed a shower head, but they just screw on and off. It’s not exactly “modifying plumbing;” it’s more akin to unscrewing a lightbulb, say, if the stupid lamp switch is broken (yes I’ve had to do that on one of those reading lights). I mean, in our old house, we removed ours every other week to attach a sprayer for bathing the dog and never broke anything. But yeah, if you were to break it, it would definitely be an issue.
