Does anyone know when the WDW resorts will have their holiday decorations complete this year? We are going from Nov. 9-17 and we especially want to take a ride to the Contemporary to get some treats from the big gingerbread house. I wonder if this is going to be delayed because of the remodel.

I'm pretty sure that the Christmas decorations were up by then last year (since Halloween is up in August now!) - I'm sure someone will have a definite answer for you. I'm thinking you mean the Grand Floridian for the gingerbread? Cool to see, but I thought the actual gingerbread was horrible!

I did mean the the Grand Floridian for gingerbread! Thanks.
I hadn't had my coffee yet and had major brain fog

I searched the web all morning and cannot find the 2012 WDW Holiday Resort schedule. Found it for Disneyland but not WDW

I found these, at least it is a start!

I saw that last year they posted around mid September about the Sleighride around Disney to see all the wonderful holiday decorations.

I'm in the World in 13 long days -- if I see anything, I will post and update.

Last year we were at WDW Nov 11th - 18th (Split stay). We were at the YC Nov 11th -14th and the decorations were not up yet but when we did our resort hopping tour on Thursday the 17th, they were all (YC,BC,BWI) fully decorated. The GF decorations went up in the wee hours of Tuesday Nov 15 (We went to bed (RPC) with nothing up other than the gingerbread house and awoke with a tree and everything decorated). The decorations were already up at the WL when we were there on Nov 16th.
Note: They were still working on the decorations at the Contemporary when we went through there on Thursday the 17th.

I thought that gingerbread was horrible too! I thought it was just me but I guess not.

I think I'll be missing the decor this year. I leave on Nov. 12th.

I thought last year most were up the week before Thanksgiving.

Last Yr we were there Nov 14th and the big tree on main st wasn't there but most decorations were up b/c we went to MVMCP! GF gingerbread house was up as well

Hmmmm...will resorts be decorated by Nov 9? Do we think? Saw parks before leaving last year, but not resorts.

We are going the same week - Nov 8 to 17. We have a "free" day scheduled for the 14th, and I am hoping to be able to visit the monorail resorts and see the decorations - hopefully they are decorated by then!!

Thanks for all your insights. LOVE, love , love the pictures of the resorts all decorated. I am getting so excited. I guess I think I will try and keep our last full day a little 'open' for some resort hopping. The decorations should all be up by then. I hope.
Yes, the gingerbread isn't good. I'd prefer a Sweetzel gingersnap cookie but it sure is something to see.

For those on here that went mid-Nov - were the decorations up? We are hoping to go next Nov, starting around the 17th.

Thanks!

It varies from year to year. Park decorations go up first, MK is always early due to MVMCP. Then the other parks are later on.

Resorts try to have everything finished the weekend prior to Thanksgiving.

i agree.

i'm not sure if next year will be different as thanksgiving arrives later, but i would not expect decorations to be complete until thanksgiving week...
