WDW Resort Discount Question

Looking to book a couple rooms for me and my family.
In the past, someone told me as long as I am going, I can book all the rooms as the Cast Member rate and don’t need to use Friends and Family.
Does anyone know if this is true?
Right now, Cast Member is 50% off but the second room would only be 40% if I book it as F&F.

Yes, you can book 3 rooms at the CM rate as long as you are staying at the same resort.

Yes you can book 3 rooms (I believe its 3) at same resort. I was confused with this a few years ago, because I kept asking for a F&F room at 50% off, and that is impossible (unless some special promo). You need to ask for 2/3 CM rooms, over the phone. You also need to get lucky and get a Reservation person who knows how to do it. I recently had 2 rooms at Pop (July).

Meanwhile DL has a whole OTHER process for this, and it could have changed since I last tried that, so I would call there as well if ever going there.

Thank you. I booked it already as F&F so I will check to see if it’s still available to cancel and rebook as CM.

There is a file that lists the rules for booking CM rates and F&F rate.

Reservations on the CM rate program may be booked for up to 3 rooms on the same reservation, at the same resort, for the same travel period up to a maximum of 30 nights, subject to availability. The employee or retiree must be staying in one of the rooms to participate in this program.
Sometimes the reservationist doesn’t know this so make sure you tell them.

So I would have to call for this though cause online I can only book 1 room at a time?

I’ve struggled with this in the past since I usually need to book two rooms for my family. I’ve always been told to book online and have done using two separate reservations - the only problem is that it then lists you (the CM) as an occupant in both rooms. I’ve booked it online regardless and then just called a bit later to change the name on the room. I have found that it’s easier to have them amend the name than make the actual bookings!

I had to book my name under all the reservations but when I added them to MDE, I was able to select the other family member as “me” and skip the phone call. Hopefully this works in the end.

I booked a room at 25% and have been calling a few times a week and there is never any 50% off rooms. It is so frustrating. They keep telling me to call back. It is for 11/29 to 12/6. It is a pain as I have to call each time since I am retired.

I lucked out when I booked my December trip last year when cast rates were released for this year and got 50% off. I have trips booked in February and December of 2023 at 40% off. Hoping for Holiday discounts for February. Keep calling but those rates aren’t showing yet
