To the OP:
I'm sorry you had so much trouble with the tickets. That's really unfortunate that you had to go to so much hassle and attitude from CM's before finally getting it resolved at the resort.
Also I have to agree with you on the check in service closing at 2pm. Opening at 6am is great but with a "no more than 12hrs before flight" policy (which I'm aware is probably not Disney's doing but more the airlines policy) it really makes it hard if you are leaving on a late evening/night flight so you can spend the full day (last day of your stay) at the parks. With it closing at 2pm that makes it where you can't even come back a little earlier (than the 3hrs needed if you use DME or even a limo service/etc. that all require that much time- and I think it was a min of 3hrs in advance to check in with airline also) because that would be after 2pm and it would be closed already! I'm pretty sure the 12hr max is an airline policy- not sure WHO has the policy of it ending at 2pm. It's not a great policy- that's all I know. You're stuck with having to check in 12hrs in advance (earliest time) but before 2pm- and that can be kinda difficult if you're leaving on a late night flight... you have to either go to the parks really late or come back to the resort in the middle of the day to take care of this. Not exactly a great "benefit" IMO.
Also I KNOW DME, Limo/towncar and such are really just trying to be "safe" with the 3hrs before flight thing... but honestly who is ever even CLOSE to their flight time? Let's be honest here. We are always there 2.5hrs before our flight and woe is us if the flight is also delayed. I hate spending that much time in an airport especially with kids. Better safe than sorry I guess- but I honestly think that's a little over the top trying to be safe. 2hrs would be sufficient IMO.
Oh and btw- I do know that they get "messed up" between resort and guest relations at the parks on unused old park hopper passes. I had one left over from 2002 (first trip- didn't use them all because *I* got an AP before using the rest of the park hoppers on my solo trip a month after the first trip, my family used all their park hoppers on the nov-Dec trip in 2003 while I still had the AP during that time) with 4 days left on it. I even checked to make sure it still showed the 4 days left (at the resort) during our June trip. I checked AGAIN at the resort on the first day of our most recent trip -yes, still valid. The reason I checked is because I kept getting the park hoppers I had mixed up. Finally that last time I had it checked I wrote on the back of it my name and 4 days left. But when I tried to use it on the 2nd day at the parks (the first day I used my one day I had on my room key in order to do the pkg to get the
free dining plan for that trip) it wouldn't work. I went to guest relations and they said it showed ZERO days left on it. They said there wasn't a thing I could do without a receipt.... which ofcourse I didn't still have and even if I still had it- I wouldn't have had it on my person on that trip after having already checked it's validity and how many days it had left during the June trip! So the days are just gone on it. You'd think they could pull it up because those original park hopper tickets (which this one was) were purchased online on Disney website in 2002- it wasn't purchased like from ticketmania or something, I didn't even KNOW about ticketmania (or this board either) when I purchased those tickets.
So I just "lost" 4 adult park hopper tickets. If I hadn't had enough other tickets with me (purchased from ticketmania and brought "just in case" we did more days at the park than I had planned but really hoped to save those to use in 2006) I'd have to pay the full gate price for tickets during our stay! *sigh* Still have no idea how 4 days disappeared between the resort and the park.
