This is sort of a budget question. I was just curious... I know that WDW will replace a ripped poncho while you are at the parks but will they replace a ripped poncho from a prior visit? My DDs poncho ripped during our last trip and since the rain stopped we didn't think to get a new one...now we are planning a trip again, during a rainy season and was just wondering. Not like buying a poncho is going to make a difference but I wanted to know.

I have read other reports of people getting "old" Disney ponchos replaced.

Hopefully some eyewitnesses will join in soon.

I never even considered "returning" an old torn Disney rain poncho. They ALL tear at some point. I guess I might return one if it seemed to tear right away, but not if I used it on several trips.

Our problem is leaving them in the room, and then buying more if we need them unexpectedly. I still have yellow ones, and beige AK ones, and some clear ones too.

Thanks for the replies. I was actually told by a cast member that if it rips there is 100% replecement guarantee. That is why I was curious.

Disney will gladly swap an old torn poncho for a new one. We recently had to swap our old 14 year old yellow/mickey for a new one. It was time for my son who is 15 to get a new one anyhow....the child's was a little small now. LOL
If the cast member hesitates just ask for a supervisor....they definitely swap them out.;)

OMG, this is too funny...I threw all them away...who knew...live and learn...we have bought dollar ones and toss them instead of trying to re pack them. easy peasy........

Will they replace one that my DH for some strange reason thought he had to put holes in the sides for our kids arms? :confused3

ETA: Just for clarification, I would never expect them to replace it.

Hmm, interesting. When we were at Disney last April, our DD's newly purchased poncho tore the next day. I stopped in the store at the GF, where we were staying, and had to produce a receipt in order to exchange it. Luckily I still had it, but had to go back to our room (a long walk in the rain) to get it.

it probably depends on the CM you ask at the time; I tried to exchange a poncho from a previous visit that ripped and was told they couldn't do it. it was a clear Mickey poncho; the ponchos that year were the Year of a Million Dreams ponchos so they said because it wasn't the same as the ones they were currently selling, they could not exchange it for me:confused3
