WDW planning help needed

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, sorry I am just a lazy Californian and don't read, anyway, you can always rent someone's DVC points. They can be pretty reasonable on here and it's how I was able to stay on property at an expensive-ish hotel on the cheap!

Planning a Disney trip is for masochists and the insane.

Funny how many people here love it... :rotfl:

I think the only reason people do it is because it's so comforting knowing you're going to be going there soon and it helps build up the excitement. Once it starts getting stressful or frustrating I recommend stopping. We didn't have any ADRs the last time we went and we still had a couple really fantastic meals. The only things we planned were the hotel, plane and Disney's Magical Express. The "take everything as it comes" method worked very well for us and resulted in an uber stress-free vaycay. :cool2:

Mark, I don't think anyone else has mentioned it, but you really don't need to worry about heading to Downtown Disney on Thursday night anymore. Sadly, since they closed all the clubs, it's not any more gay friendly down there than any other time.

One thing you MUST do while you're in town is meet us for drinks! ::yes::

Is there a lot of shopping, plus a World of Disney store in DTD like there is in California? Figured we would head down there to eat and walk around, shop, etc. Not much into clubbing anymore. Tried that NYE and it about killed me. I'm too old anymore. :rotfl:

And yes, we'd love to meet you both! We'll be busy parkhopping, but would love to make time to meet some people. In the parks better or.....?

We actually thought about that, but worked something out for a hotel. We're staying at Pop Century at a great price.

Huh. I must be insane...:rolleyes1 ;)

Why yes, yes you are. :)

I stress out in the beginning when I'm getting the flight, hotel, airport transportation and park tickets, which usually only takes a day or two. Once everything is booked I relax. We don't make plans, no ADR's. We just wing it and plan on doing that while at WDW too. Only planning we plan on doing is which park, which day and for how long, including magic hours or whatever it's called, to maximize our 3 days we only have.

Definitely will be commando style park hopping.

Yay for Pop Century! :thumbsup2
We have stayed there a couple of times and really liked it. In fact, DH says we would STILL be staying there every trip except the 3 of us do not fit in 2 double beds. That, and they don't have coffee makers in the rooms. ;)

I think dining is my favorite part of our trips. Which is why I make our ADRs at 180 days out. But it does take time away from touring. In June I have scaled back our sit down meals to no more than one per day, and some days we are just doing counter service. OK, well, there are only 2 days with no ADRs, but that is more than I usually have! :rotfl2: Some days our sit down meal is breakfast or lunch instead of dinner so MAYBE we can see a parade or fireworks. We tend to miss those because we are always in a restaurant.

Hey now, dont forget to visit me too! :snooty: :lmao:

No advice here, but ENJOY!! Sooo happy you get to go for a quick visit!!

It will be nice staying on site and not having to worry about the hotel shuttles. The one time we went a few years ago, we got stranded twice and had to take taxi's to our off site hotel. And you miss fireworks and parades??!!! That's the one thing we never miss. :)

Well of course! Um, is there an easy way to get there? lol

How exciting to have a trip fall in your lap!

So happy to hear that you will be staying on property.

Have fun doing *minor* planning

Steven just reminded me that we'll be there during our 3 year anniversary.

Now I have to figure out something special. Or not. Maybe the trip itself is special enough considering it wasn't planned. :) Maybe I can take him to Cinderella's wishing well and have a special moment with one another since that is where we exchanged rings (Sleeping Beauty's wishing well) while in Disneyland a year ago.

That's just too Disney :rotfl:

How about a ride through IASW with a true "happy ending"? Would that be "Disney" enough? :lmao:

I kid, I kid.......

That ride creeps me out!

I have had that experience on Spaceship Earth, the Haunted Mansion, Pirates, the Monorail, the TTA, Splash Mountain, and Journey Into Imagination...
