WDW or DLR in October?

We've been to WDW a couple of times, both trips were right around Thanksgiving or early Dec and we stayed on-site. We've never been to DLR. This trip we're looking at possibly staying off-site and visiting Disney only 3-4 days then seeing other attractions and spending a day at the beach. Which area would have better weather in October? Orlando or LA?

We've gone twice in Fall (October) and loved it. It made our summer last longer. Both times, we went to the beach one day. Weather was HOT last October, more than I was expecting. The MNSSHP was great. I wish we were going again this fall.

Whatever you do, avoid the time that the Utah students are out for their teachers' conference. It was worse than Jersey Week because it's smaller than WDW. We did enjoy that Halloween Party that DL puts on but it was definitely not as good as the one at WDW sounds (we haven't been to MNSSHP yet).

Have never done WDW in October but frequently do early October at DL because it's near my daughter's birthday. It has the potential to be nuclear hot in early October. Our last early October day, the Santa Ana winds were blowing in super hot, dry air. The winds were so fierce that they canceled the fireworks, World of Color, Fantasmic, and they didn't sell balloons.

The year before that, the weather was still quite hot but we had no winds. Of course Southern California doesn't have the humidity that Central Florida does. Mind you, still had a great time - just hydrated with ice cold water like crazy and ducked into air conditioned spots when the sun was beating down.

If you're basing your decision on the weather and what would be more beach friendly, then I would definitely say WDW. October here is still a very warm month and with it, high humidity levels. I've been to So Cal in October a couple of times one time it was cool with a heavy fog layer in the morning. It warmed up in the afternoon, but I wouldn't say it warmed up enough to consider it beach weather, for me anyway. The second time I was there, there wasn't any fog but it was cool enough that I would rule out beach time.

DLR would be a good choice if you've never seen Nightmare Before Christmas Haunted Mansion or Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy. For 3-4 days, DLR would be a good fit.

October in WDW is hot. That's the time of year we always go and we've seen several 90+ days. Most commonly it's in the mid-80s. Don't believe it will be cool.

We went to DLR last year in July and we had some hot days, but it was equivalent to the type of weather we experience at WDW in October, so we were used to it.
