For the first time (in foreeevverrr....) we are renting a car for the time we are in Orlando. We'll be staying on property at POP. Right now we (me, husband, two kids 5 & 4, and a baby) are booked with the regular Dining Plan at approximately $650.

In the interest of "switching things up" and being a bit more frugal, and realizing the baby is unlikely to want to sit through any meals of significant length...

What are your favorite off-property restaurants? This can be fast food, sit down meals, etc.

Q'Kenan. This is a Latin restaurant and is by far the BEST food at a cheap price that I have ever had. It is about 3 miles from DW.
They have a VERY broad menu, with mostly Latin food (street food and some less known dishes).
We have been there 3-4 times and tried different things, with every dish hitting it out of the ball park. I am a Disney guy and generally stay in the bubble, but this place is so good that we have made a special trip every time we have had a car.

There are tons of chain spots nearby and for the sake of budget, we have no qualms hitting them. Even just hitting ChickFilA in Celebration is a welcome break from theme park pricing and just about every kid is a happy camper there ;)

There are several good spots in Crossroads - Fuddruckers, Sweet Tomatoes, Moe's, Tom & Chee, Noodles & Company, On the Border, and a bunch of other spots are hidden back in there.

I love Shake Shack & Chuys (because we don't have one in my city).

Cafe TuTu Tango is SO GOOD but not very close by... Same goes for Hash Hash A GoGo.

We really like Miller's Ale House. It's technically a sportsbar but it's perfectly family-friendly, the portions are generous and the prices are good. There are 2 locations - one closer to the Animal Kingdom area and one closer to the entrance to the Disney Springs hotel area.

Pollo Tropical! I’ve gone every trip for years! It’s Caribbean fast food. Very cheap and really good!
We also don’t have Boston Markets in our area so we usually go there for a family meal.

There is a hibachi restaurant at one of the Disney Springs hotels. It was one of the Hilton's I think, forget which one. There is a McDonald's on property that is really big and I remember going to as a kid and being super impressed lol.

Does Grubhub or a similar service deliver to Disney resorts? It never occurred to me to wonder before! Then you wouldn't need a car.

Yes there is a Benihana at the "original" Hilton on Hotel Plaza. The one near the crossover bridges.
