Hi, can someone tell me what the parks and weather are usually like Mid July ? We cant take the kids out of school so are limited when we can go to WDW now. If it rains does it rain for hours ? How long do you wait in line ?
thanks :flower1:

Hi!

July is a busy time of the year - it's very hot, it can rain a lot and the queues can be very long (sometimes upto an hour and a half)

BUT don't :earseek: - I went in July last year and absolutely loved it! Why? Well there are plenty of advantages of going in July. Firstly, the parks are open for longer, secondly few rides are down for repair and thirdly there are parades every night - is essence, the parks are ahead full steam. Also, I think there is something special about busy Disney parks - if they are too empty it's just weird.

That said, you need to be well organised to have a positive experience because it does get busy and HOT. Buy yourself a copy of the 'Unofficial Guide to Disney' by Bob Sehlinger - treat it as your bible. The best thing we did was to get to the park 45 mins before opening, leave at midday and return at 5 until closing.

Enjoy.

P.S. The rain in the afternoon is a godsend - it'll cool everything right down.

Hi,

We're also limited to school holidays. July is busy and hot but not as busy as Easter.

The key is to plan your holiday. Follow the advice in the guide books and turn up for park opening and try and avoid early entry parks unless you can take advantage of that.

Our kids wont do more than 30mins in a Queue but we rarely end up waiting more than 15mins. Follow the plans in the guide books and use the fastpass system. We were normally out the parks by 1pm having done the major rides, took a few hours break from the heat and back in for the last 4-5 hours of the park.

The weather seems to vary every year. It will certainly rain heavily at times. Whether you get caught in the rain depends on luck but expect to get caught at least 75% of the days. This year the rain seemed to arrive at about 4pm and often stayed around for the rest of the day. Other years it only rained for about 1-2 hours and sometimes arrived earlier.

There is still plenty to do when the rain is around so it's nothing to worry about - and it does cool you down :D

Most of the time the rain is just short showers in the late afternoon. Last year in mid-July we had one afternoon where it rained for a couple of hours. Don't be afraid of the rain. It cools things off and gets the crowds to leave.

The crowds aren't bad as long as you steer clear of July 4th, go to the parks at opening or EE at MK, take afternoon breaks, and use fast pass as much as possible. We also usually only waited for about 15 minutes, sometimes even less. We saved fastpass for those popular rides or went on them during off times--very early, very late, during a parade, etc.

It's the heat and humidity in mid-july that was the killer for me. Be prepared and alternate between outdoor and indoor attractions.

Thanks for replies. We were there a few days after Easter this year and it was busy but not unbearably so. I dont mind the heat as long as it doesnt rain all day long :flower1: We may be there end of July so should miss 4th July crowds. :wizard: :D
