It was recently, previously advised that if I did not have proof of time that I should write in 5:01 for a marathon. On the site it is saying you need to show proof for anything better than 6:30. Can I/SHould I write 5:01. Or should I not write 5:01?

Is this making sense? Any suggestions?

They recently changed the requirements for proof of pace. The new time for a marathon is anything under 6:30 requires proof. So unless you have a race time to submit I wouldn't put below that bc they may put you in the back if they can't confirm.

Here is the important part of the new rules.. You can find this on the runDisney site, under the WDW marathon weekend and under the tab registration if you scroll down.. Added more to the quote about when it has to be submitted, where and that you CANNOT make changes at the expo for the 2014 marathon weekend!

New 2014 runDisney proof of time guidelines:

If you believe you will finish the Half Marathon in less than 3:15 hours or the Marathon in less than 6:30 hours, proof of time is required for start corral placement. Goofy's Race and a Half Challenge and Dopey Challenge participants should adhere to Full Marathon proof of time requirements. Please reference the Race Pacing Chart below for finish times and associated pacing per mile.
AProof of time must be provided from a certified race reflecting results after January 1, 2012.
Half Marathon - 10K or longer
Full Marathon - 10 Miles or longer

If you do not have a proof of time to submit, list "N/A" at the point of registration. If proof of time is not provided by November 1, 2013 you will be placed in the last start corral. If your proof of time data is incomplete or cannot be verified, you will be placed in the last start corral. To provide or update your proof of time, you must email all proof of time data requested above to disneysports@trackshack.com. No corral changes will be made after November 1, 2013.

As a reminder, you will no longer be able to bring proof of your estimated finish time to the Runner Relations booth during the Expo and have your start corral placement changed.

Full Marathon - 10 Miles or longer

I've only done one half during the princess and I have no intention of turning that number in for proof of time considering I was running well below my normal pace due to photo stops. I assumed you could just enter a good time from a 10k? Not a 10miler? :crazy2:

I was thisclose to registering for a 10k coming up in May within the next few days. Time to start looking for a half marathon around here considering I've never seen a 10miler race in my area :confused3

I signed up for the Dopy but I used a half marathon time from 2013 WDW half as proof. Think that is going to cause me a corral problem?

Thank you for the confirmation. I am going to just have to put 6:30 right now.

I have a half marathon planned for September at about the exact time my training calls for it. Hopefully, I can get a time to move up some in the corral placement.

Looking at the directions, I think you don't put a predicted time at all right now since you do not have a race to back up your pace. When you have a race to submit they will then have a time to adjust your placement. I would put in n/a like it says to in the instructions since your race in September will negate anything you wrote on your registration anyway.
