WDW kids club questions

I have a couple of questions about the kids clubs that are at some of the WDW resorts. If your staying on Disney property can you make reservations at any of them or only at the hotel where your staying? Also has anyone here tried one and what did your kids think of it? Or even tried more than one and which did your child like more? Thanks!!

One last thing or if anyone knows of where I can get more information that would be really great!! Thanks again!!

You can indeed make reservations at any of the clubs. I'd give you my reviews, but my kids are 19 and 16 now, so things may have changed! But they still talk about the good times they had at the Sandcastle Club back in the mid-to-late 90s!

DS17 loved Neverland at Poly when he was little. Back when he was little Goofy and Capt Hook came and "tucked" them in on blankets and then the kids all got back up to play. It was one of the highlights of his trip. DS4 will be spending an evening at Simbas Cubhouse this trip.

My kids loved Simba's Clubhouse at the AKL. We were staying at the AKL at the time and had an adults only dinner at Jiko but I think you can just make the reservations even if you are not a resort guest.

There were no characters, but they did have plenty of crafts, movies, video games (all disney of course)

THey did get dinner (you pre-order from a set menu) and cookies and ice cream and milk.

It's not cheap, $10/hour perchild.

Thank you so much for all the info and i'm glad to hear all of your kids had a great time. DH and I were thinking of having an adults only dinner during our trip and this would be perfect to allow us to do that. Plus it sounds like the kids would have a great time as well. Thanks again!!

Is the Swan/Dolphin included with being able to use any of the kids clubs at the Disney resorts? I just want to try and get as much info as I can before we decide on a hotel. Thanks!!

You don't have to be a resort guest to use the WDW kids clubs so I would choose your resort based on the resort amenities and then choose the kids club that fits your plans. We like to use the kids club closest to where dh and I will be.

In addition the S/D has a great kids club, tied for 2nd with the AKL' Simba's according to my dd's and second only to the Neverland club. Also if your eating at one of the restaurants at the Swan or Dolphin you get 2 hours complimentary at the Dolphin's Kids club. Dh and I ate at BlueZoo (awesome) and the kids had a great time including dinner and a trip to the arcade!

WOW!! That's great to know. We've been only twice to WDW and both time staying at the BC and were considering trying another hotel on our next visit so know all of this will help with our planning. Because we would really like to have an adults only dinner one night. So thanks again!!

I would not recomend the Mouseketeer Club at the GF. It was very small for 12 kids and 2 adults. The one CM was kinda witchy towards us and the kids in the first 10 minutes. She even gave my DH a hard time about the pager. We will not go there again. We will try the neverland club or simbas instead. The room was about the siz of a small hotel room, I didn't feel there was enough room for them to lay down if they wanted. The kids had an oK time, but my kids can have fun in a cardboard box. We attend Day care here at home, so I am not being picky about it, just offering my 2 cents.
