Hi all, just joined and reading posts with interest. Apologies if this has been asked already, but can anyone gives any hints and tips for the following:

Transportation from Orlando Intl to Holiday Inn, Lake BV for above party and manual wheelchair? I've heard of limo's etc or is there buses etc. We're staying within the WDW area so have not gone for hire car etc. on this trip.

From the Holiday Inn to the park complexes, is it pushable, quite fit but if its a long distance then obviously don't want ruin my day by being tired first thing or is there a transportation type arrangement that's wheelchair friendly.

If there is good sites for this information please point me in the right direction.

Only 122 days to go :)

when we go we always use mears, just call ahead of time and they will have their handicapped van waiting for you to go to the hotel. as far as walking from there it is way to far and unsafe. what i would do is call the hotel to see if they have a shuttle, most of them do, and if you can transfer in youll be fine otherwise mears or their taxi company could help you out. and of course you could rent a car but then you need to worry about traffic which i perfer not to.:p :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Thanks a lot for your replies, certainly given me food for thought and am investigating the car option to give me the freedom to move around as when required. Thanks for the links tink2dw, yes we are at the Family Suite resort, it certainly shed some light on where we will be in relation to the parks. I've been before and have driven in the US so do know that suitably adapted cars are available for hire. Just need to weigh up the cost compared to freedom seeing as the car will be parked for most of the day whilst we enjoy the parks. Plenty of time to organise and will probably be back looking for hints and tips.

Looks like you got a number of good answers already.
If you ask about the shuttle buses from the hotel, we've had reports that some of the shuttle buses are not accessible at all, some of the hotels have a few shuttles buses per day that are accessible and the rest are not. If you need to stay in the wheelchair for transport, make sure to ask if the buses can accomidate that. They may say that you can ride, but what they mean is if you can get out of the wheelchair, fold it and walk up a few steps, you can ride.
Good luck and let us know what happens. This is one of the areas that change quickly, so the information I have may be out of date.
