Hello, all DCL experts--
I have a few questions that I hope you can help me with-- I am trying to convince DH that a cruise would be a nice change (we are DVC members), but I need all the info (ammo?) I can get in order to convince him. :rolleyes1

Question #1: How do I justify the cost over Royal Caribbean, which we have sailed once in the past and loved?

#2 How do I get on the Magical Rates list for April 2006? Is there such a thing? Is there a rate watch place like the code watch on the resort/budget boards, or do I just make mousesavers my home page ;) ?

#3 Since we are limited to sailing during a school vacation week (which is Easter to boot, next year) what would be a good deal for the 4 night cruise? I was quoted 4200. Any tips on lowering that rate?

#4 Why can't I book a handicapped accessible category 11 room that sleeps 4 (DS uses a wheelchair)? I was told I would have to get 2 adjoining, not connecting rooms in cat 11-- and the kids are too young for that. Either that, or Cat 5-- which is REALLY beyond my budget. Seems not quite right to me...

Anyway, any help would be appreciated-- I really want to go DCL, but I have a hold on a RCCL cruise for 7 nights for 3000-- hard to justify a shorter trip for so much more money.

#1 It's Disney!!! :)
#2 Sadly there are no codes or special rates. The best way to get a good price is to book early...at least a year ahead.
#3 Easter week is going to be high. I would check with evey TA out there to get the best rate possible.
#4 I just checked and the 4 handicapped accessable rooms do only sleep 3, which means that there is no pull down bed. That may be due to the configuration of the room with the larger bathroom, I really don't know myself. Even the cat 6s are only for 3 people.

Thanks so much for your reply.
As much as we love Disney, we will have to get our Disney fix on land for the foreseeable future. I just booked next year, Easter week (April 2006) with Royal Caribbean, 4 night cruise, for 1346 for four of us. Couldn't pass it up. Say hi to the mouse on board for me, and we'll see him at the parks!

I didn't realize before your post that this was a problem with the handicapped accessable rooms. I would imagine that there are many families of four who would need this and wouldn't be able to go. I do know that if we had to book a category 5 stateroom, we probably wouldn't go...and definitely not every year. Have you emailed DCL about this? Maybe it is something that they can change in the future.
