My last full day in Florida...boo hoo. We started off the day with a Beach Club resort character breakfast because Chris knew a friend of his would be playing Chip that day. Sure enough, we got a lot of attention from Chip. He even sat right down with us at the table! lol. The food there was pretty good, buffet style. They had just about anything you could want for breakfast.
We decided we'd spent part of that day at MK and part back at MGM to catch up on things we had missed last time such as Voyage of the Little Mermaid, RnR, and ToT. By the way, when people tell you that Mondays are very crowded at MK- believe them!! Oh my God, I could not believe the crowds that day. It took forever even to get in the park- even at the castmember entrance. It was insane.
When we did finally get in, we returned to the Exposition Hall. This time we were greeted by Snow White and Cinderella, and we got to chat a little once again. My favorite Fantasyland ride is Peter Pan, so got fastpasses for that and then roamed around. We rode It's a Small World (even that had a little bit of a wait!). Chris said "look it's Belle!" and at first I thought he was teasing me again, but then I looked for myself- it really was Belle! She was coming off from the ride! Whoa. I've never seen her do that before. We watched her disappear around the corner with a group of people. My guess is that she was part of some tour. Later, we checked to see if Aurora was at the old sky way entrance as she told us she would be. We didn't get in line, but sure enough, she was there.
I wanted to see Belle's storytelling at Fairy Tale Gardens, something I did almost regularly during the college program. I almost know the whole thing by heart. Chris chickened out though because he knew the Belle there knows him, and he didn't want to risk being pulled on stage. One of Belle's assistants had met me last year. I said hi to her after the show, and she gave me another Belle sticker and asked if I was still singing.
When we walked past the character festival area in Fantasyland, I caught sight of some black horns from over the fence. Malificant! I have never seen her do meet and greets before! We had to get in line. Not only was Malificant there, but a whole buncha villians- Queen of Hearts (she is so tall!), Prince John, Jafar, Ratclife, and Cruella. We were able to get a group shot. Cruella was Chris's MGM friend again. She joked that we were following her, and Chris joked that she was following us.
A few days before at Downtown Disney, I had found the coolest t-shirt. It was brand new- just arrived that week. It's bright pink and has Belle on it smirking while pointing outward with her thumb, and it says "I'm with the Beast." I had to have it! I wore it that day and got so much attention! Cruella loved it and asked Chris why he didn't get one for her. All day long, CMs and characters would ask me "Who's the Beast?" and Chris would raise his hand and tease "Yeah, that's how highly she thinks of me!" lol. I, of couse, told him that the Beast happens to be a character I like a lot, so calling him the Beast is actually a compliment. hehe.
We ended up watching the parade for yet a third time because Cruella had asked if we were going to so we felt obligated to since she'd be in it. The more I watched it, the more I liked it. Then we decided it was time to high tail it to MGM and hope it was less crowded.
At MGM, most of the characters were gone by this point because it was almost parade time. We spent the time going to some of the attractions we had missed last time. ToT still makes me nervous no matter how many times I ride it. hehe. We were going to do Fantasmic, but decided that since we've both seen it a couple times before, niether of us felt like waiting an hour in the amphitheatre so we decided to skip it.
We made one last stop at a toy store on Sunset because Chris wanted to buy me an Ariel doll that I really liked. I hadn't thought about it much before this point, but all of a sudden in this shop, it hit me that my last day in FL was almost over. I started crying for a little bit.
Instead of Fantasmic, we decided to take the boats to the Boardwalk to look around at stores and have dinner. We found this *excellent* resturant which I think was called Big River....I'll have to check on that. Anyway, Chris had the Smokey Mountain pasta, and I had hazelnut chicken. Both dishes were heavenly! We shared them so we could each try both. hehe. The service was great too- the food came so quickly.
We checked out this really cool art and sculpture store before we headed back to the resort. It had lots of underwater scenes, some with Ariel in them which was pretty funny.
Finally, we boarded the bus to Downtown Disney where we could get another bus to All Star Music. I clutched my new Ariel doll in my hands just as a little girl would. When we got to the resort, we went into the shop where I spent forever picking out some last minute souvineers. hehe.
The next day, Chris arrived at my room. I cried again that morning. Since my plane didn't leave till 3:15, I checked out of the hotel and left my things with Chris's dad so Chris and I could hang out for a few hours. We had lunch and then went back to the arcade. I still had credit for 500 tickets. You'll never believe this though- I went back to that same game and did it again! And then I did another game and my quarter went through the 150 tickets slot! Goodness, I must have been under some kinda charm. lol. I swear that has never happened to me before. I ended up getting a Kermit slinky doll and a couple of other little doo-hickies.
When it was time to go, Chris's parents drove us to the airport, and we then had to say goodbye. *sigh* The plane ride was uneventful, though I did find myself getting choked up again at one point.
Despite everything- the heat, the crowds, getting sick....I really did have a wonderful trip. In fact, I would rather be in FL right now instead of TN! I really wish my mom and my sis hadn't talked me out of doing the college program again this year- especially since I *still* don't have a summer job.
