DH, DD(will be 23months), DD(will be 11) and I are going to the world 9/10-9/20. School says ok, no problem, everything is wonderful with the world...except for a few questions.....
How much of a difference is there between weather and crowds in Sept and Oct? We have been in mid Oct, and weather & crowds are ok. Should we expect a lot less crowds, a lot more heat & humidity, and a lot more rain? Shorter park hours?
We were also thinking of leaving 9/9 instead, and flying into West Palm airport to visit my company in Boca (I work from home), then take the 3 hour drive from Boca to WDW. We would either spend the night in Boca and drive to WDW Fri am, or drive to WDW that night to get an early start Fri am. Only problem is, I would have to pay the change fee for one plane ticket (25.), cost approx 110. more to rent car from West Palm than Orlando, and hotel for the extra night (about 50). So, is it worth it to spend about 185 more to visit boss & coworkers, then have to drive almost 3 hours to Orlando? For those you who have heard similar versions of this question from me before, thanks for your advice and patience. I'm going to post a question about the $$ aspect on the budget board....you'd think I don't go to the bathroom without asking advice from you guys...it's true...Thanks!

There's not a huge difference. School is in session pretty much everywhere in October, so crowds tend to be lower then, but there's not a huge amount of difference between September and October, since most schools are in session in September as well. If you were talking between August and October, the margin would be huge. September will be busier than you're used to in mid-October, but still very manageable. Weather will be warmer and more humid than you get in October, but again ... not by a huge margin.

Well ... that depends. How badly do you want (or need) see your boss and co-workers? If this is a true vacation and the only reason you're thinking of stopping in Boca is because you're "in the neighborhood" (so to speak), then I say skip the side trip and just go to Disney. If, however, you need to stop by to do some business-related stuff, or you're hoping to write off part of the trip, or you really like these folks and want to see them while you're relatively nearby, then it's probably worth it. But that's a decision only you can make. It will obviously cost you money to make the stop in Boca -- is what you'll get out of the stop worth it? None of us can answer that for you.
