WDW in June? What to expect?

Besides HOT? LOL!

We've only been in May. Once the 2nd week & once the 3rd week. This time we're going June 13-20 and I have no idea what to expect in terms of crowds, etc.

The times in May weren't bad, at all.

Thoughts? Experiences? Advice?

June is definitely busier than May, not awful just busy. since most kids get out of school and go on vacation.Most southern schools get out in May and alot of the NE schools get out in early June.Whenever school is out there will be crowds.

Other than hot, humid & much crowder than May! OH, and rainy - completely forgot about that one! But if you are prepared then you'll be ok.

We went at the end of June 2008 and we won't be going back during that time. We went then because my DDs dance school was dancing at Magic Kingdom. Just plan each park and be open to changes and then you'll be fine. I had plenty of rain gear and actually enjoyed getting wet some of the days . We used the FastPass at EVERY opportunity and it worked out very well!

Go at rope drop, it does rain almost every day around 3, it will be hot, so utilize attractions and resturants for cooling down, it will be crowded but doable with a plan. Have fun!

We went in 2006 at the end of June and will be returning this year the same week. It was hot and the parks were crowded but it was still doable. I am excited that this year the vacation will be almost free. I have earned enought to pay for the DDP for my family of 5 (all adults) on Sunshine Rewards, tips are covered by my Disney Visa, most of our Park tickets again covered by the money I have earned on Sunshine Rewards, and the plane fare covered by points earned on my credit card. We are DVC members also so that covers the accomodations in a 2 BR at Saratoga Springs.

We went the end of June 2008 & we went everyday at rope drop & left my 2pm but it was definately crowded early afternoon & wait times were 1-1 1/2 hrs for most rides

We are going June 8-14. Anyone know if the parks are typically packed by then? We have a group of 11 with several first time visitors. Any tips for large groups are also appreciated. What is the best day of week for Animal Kingdom?

We always go in June. This year we are going June 9-16. HAVE A PLAN!! I agree with the poster who said be there early and leave in the afternoon. It rains every day. Go back in the evening after it has cooled off. Maximize those fast passes!! Use restaurants and shows to cool off (Fantasmic in MK is always very cool!), stay well hydrated, drink a lot. Take it slow and dont rush, we alternate two outdoor activities with one indoor (even the Country Bear Jamboree as lame as it is, is air conditioned! LOL!). Most of all HAVE FUN!!!

According to some experts, any park that does NOT have Extra Magic Hours that day is a good park to go to. Example is AK has EMH on Monday, go somewhere else. I have always heard dont do MK on Saturday but that may be an urban myth.

I subscribed to Tour Guide Mike for our June 2008 trip (June 15-25) and we never waited for more than 20 minutes for ANYTHING. We used fast passes and we were at the park when it opened and to me, that was the difference in that trip and all the previous ones.

What is tour guide mike?

I had already intended on avoiding EHM parks. I assume that info is here somewhere (or at WDW's site) - I just need to find it.

We will not be at any park on Saturday as that is our arrival/departure day. We have a 16ish hour drive down so Saturday is going to be our chill day with the fun starting on Sunday and ending Friday. We will be leaving the following Saturday and then driving 1/2 way home.

I subscribed to Tour Guide Mike for our June 2008 trip (June 15-25) and we never waited for more than 20 minutes for ANYTHING. We used fast passes and we were at the park when it opened and to me, that was the difference in that trip and all the previous ones.

Thanks for the reply..Will you subscribe to Tour Guide Mike again, or simply reapply last years plan? Also, is it a complete touring guide, or just many "tips" compiled into one easy to read document? I've never been during a "busy" season, so never needed real help in the past. Not sure what my "plan" should be.

We've gone in late June/early July for years and LOVE LOVE LOVE it The parks are bursting with energy and everything is open the max number of hours. you can expect heat, sun, a daily rain soak, crowds, and wait times without FPs. Some attractions will run out of FPs before 3pm so get them early. On the pro side: we love doing the evening EMH park each day because the crowds thin out and you can take advantage of the last couple hours to do anything. Plus it's absolutely cool to close down the park.Make all your ADRs for sitdowns at the 90 day mark. enjoy your resort pool facilities--it's great weather, and arrange your schedule so you are taking in the shows during the heat of the day. June 19, here we come

No I will subscribe again. I mainly use his Least Crowded Parks daily plan, not so much which order to ride the rides in (he does a general overview like go to MK on Monday but then has a more specific plan - go to Fantasyland and ride Dumbo, the Snow White, etc). I use him to plan which park to go to on a certain day. I was a bit skeptical at first but I saw last year that it worked!
