Hi all,

Our family trip to WDW is in 2 months. It will be DH, myself, and our two DD's 5 1/2 and 3 1/2 years old. I just feel like I should doing something else now to get ready :rotfl: . We have our flight, our room (POP), our tickets, we are on the meal plan and have our ADR's, I am in a frig swap.

I do still need to order some food from garden grocer or something similar for my extra picky DD with sensory issues and lactose intolerance so she will have something to eat. And I do need to call disney and let them know our return flight time has changed (thanks Air Tran :headache:) And I do need to pull our suitcase out of our storage closet and check it out I think it has a broken wheel. And I desperately need to find some comfortable walking shoes for myself.

So with 2 months left to go is there anything else I should be doing?

Which grocery delivery service do you all recomend? Is it too late for that? I hope not since we really need food for DD#1 and we aren't getting a car.

Anything else you can recommend would be appreciated this is our first trip to WDW.

Congrats on your first trip! It isn't too late at all for Garden Grocer. The sooner you order the better choice you have in delivery times. It sounds like you have everything under control. I found Crocs good for the parks. Relax for now because before you know it, it will be time to pack. Also, did you accept the change from airtran? If not, shop around and see if you can do better. If you have not accepted the change, you can cancel your flight! We saved almost $100 by switching to SW less than 2 months before our trip...worth a look! Have fun!

If you are looking for the child sized ponchos...target no longer carries them. You can order them directly from Coleman.com. (search Coleman Kids Ponchos). I ordered last week and they came really quickly

You might start thinking about the parks themselves.

I got a copy of Birnbaum's WDW With Kids book. The kids went through it page by page, initialing the rides they thought they would like. (My oldest has a rating system: "BB, B, 1/2 B" )

Then think about which parks you'll do on each day, and how you'll approach the parks. You might want to take a look at some of the touring plans at www.touringplans.com for some general idea.

There's plenty of time to order food; most people recommend 2 weeks out, though we ordered at 5 weeks.

thanks, but i just buy the adult and tie the bottom.

Thanks everyone. You all did remind me of a few things I still need to do. I swear I bought 2 raincoats for the girls and for some reason I can only find one so I need to go get another one. They are lightweight more like a poncho but snap up the front.

I also need to get autograph books. I have the pens already but never settled on which books to get. I think I want to do the ones where the character can sign on one side then there is room for a picture on the other side. DD#1 loves to look at photo albums.

I forgot to mention I do have disney travel/tour books one adult one and one for DD to look through. I have ordered the special maps from Disney. And we have used tour guide mike to plan which parks on which days. But I don't really have a specific plan once inside the parks, I guess I need to look at that a little better.

Thanks you all are the best

About your dd's food situation...have you e-mailed wdwmkspecialdiets@email.disney.com? They can give you TONS of information about what she can eat everywhere at WDW. Also, they'll give you a form to fill out so that you can have all the specific information sent to the resturaunts you're eating at before you get there so they know to expect you.

Just thought it could be something for you to do now, if you're interested, and then you don't have to worry about buying food online or at least not as much food!

We did this, because my DS (almost 2) has a bunch of food allergies, and they were so helpful, it sounds like we won't have any problems eating there!

Ooh, yeah, even if you don't want to do a specific plan, I think for a first-timer especially it is great to read up on the different attractions and figure out your must-see's, and what you want to avoid (esp. things without height limits that may scare the kids like It's Tough to be a Bug or Snow White's Scary Adventures). Also try to get a feel for which rides to hit first thing in the morning because the lines move slowly, etc.

Personally, I think with little kids (mine were 3.75 & 6.5 at our visit) that a complete plan is too hard to follow. But knowing what we might want to do or avoid was invaluable!

are you doing tinkerbell gifts? I'm always on the lookout for disney themed small gifts for that (dollar store, target, disney outlet dot com). Getting them themed gifts is my favorite part of the planning!

are you pre-ordering the photo cd for photopass?

how are you recharging your camera? do you need extra batteries for that? extra memory cards?

I'll have to try the email address you posted and see what they have to say. She doesn't have allergies she is just picky beyond belief. She loves dairy but there is only one type of sliced american cheese she will eat and only one brand and flavor of yogurt she will eat. And since she is lactose intolerant I'm pretty sure we will need to have our own milk for her. She won't drink soy she will only drink lactose free skim (cow) milk. We can't take her out to eat or basically anywhere without packing food for her which I'm used to. But all our other vacations since having kids we have drove so we either took food with us or had a car to get to the grocery when we got there. She does like fruit though - watermellon, apples, bananas, and purple grapes not red or green :headache: so I'm sure we can at least find fruit at the buffets.
