WDW Half Scream Team Locations

Here is an arial view of the TTC & Poly (thanks to Chester for resurrecting this). The circles in the Blue represent views from the Grand Floridian and the Poly. The red circle represents one of the view areas from the TTC. It looks like (and according to my DH who did this last year) you can get off the monorail at the TTC and turn to the left and you are right there on the path before the participants get to the MK. After the participants pass there you can walk over (or catch the monorail) to the Poly or GF for another view.

OK I have NO idea what i am going to do now after reading the thread about the busses. DH and DS are doing 5k Friday and I have no idea if I can get DS-11 and DS - 8 up and out at 4 am. We will have car, I could drive to TTR but I REALLY did not want to do that! Don't know what I'm going to do cause DH is is wave B which leaves at 6:10 and he is running about 9 1/2 pace so it wont be long before he is there:confused3

NO matter how I get there we will definately walk over to Poly also to see him again. We will all be in bright red AT Marathon T-shirts. Will you guys have WISH shirts need to know how to find each other.

Pat: John is also doing the half and does about a 15-minute mile. Will your husband be wearing a WISH shirt? I was told last year not to go to MK as it gets very crowded there. You can be at TTC and then move to Poly really quickly while the runners go through the MK.

Oh yes. Jim is definitely wearing a WISH shirt. He is a big guy and hard to miss. We will be at Pop for our Friday meet, will we see you then? Perhaps the guys can hang together during the half. Jim has done the Chicago half twice and the DL inaugural in 2006, but this will be his first event without me. He's a little concerned about being by himself and I am very concerned he will start off too fast without me to keep him on pace.

I've got my cowbell ready to pack - the only thing I've got ready so far!!

I am getting so ramped up for this event! I thank all of you for cheering us along. You really make a huge difference.

tinkerbell of winter, going to the MK on half day you will not see any participants b/c we are through there before the park opens. There is limited/crowded viewing at MK before the park opens.

The rest of the logistics are within this thread. Anywhere would be appreciated.

I was thinking if you can't get the cow bells you might try putting some coins in the plastic milk/juice containers and shaking them. Folks do that here with small jugs at the football games.

Ummm....I think we leave around 5 am to get to Main Street. No wonder Inever thought it got crowded. :-p That's where dh adn I will be until the last WISHer goes by, tehn we head to about mile 12, entrance to Epcot.

Will you drive or take transportation. Do they have it for spectators at that time. After we leave TTR and Poly I think I am going to go to 12 also instead of the actual finish. MY parents brought kids to see us at finish last year and the crowds were horrible, the kids literally got crushed trying to get up front to see us. It did pay off cause I did get to give Seth a kiss right before I crossed the finish - that was so awesome

So maybe we will see you at 12.

We take teh buses. If you go early, before 5:30?, you will go to TnT. If not, you can only go to Epcot and have to monorail twice.

We'll be at the Pop on Friday. The guys can meet then. Sounds like this is all coming together nicely.

I posted this on the weekly thread too, but I went to the Target by my work on my lunch break and got 2 red cowbells (for our AT marathon runners) but they did have lime green too. I dont' know why I did not get them but I am going back after work and get what they have and I will give them out at POP friday night to anyone who does not have any but wants some.

They had thundersticks in the same area at another store we went today. today was my grab my last minute stuff (shampoo & such) for the trip.

On another side note this one today had Mickey Mouse post-its for $1.00 in the same area. I've always pretty much ignored this area but now it's my favorite spot all in the matter of 1 week LOL

Oh and I picked up 3 of the thunderstick packs so I have a spare or 2 depending on if Mom comes with me or not.

i'm going to make a few SMALL signs on lime green poster board. i say SMALL because Mom and a non-team member spectator were about to take out another spectator on Main St last year because they kept putting the sign up in front of Mom & the other people's faces so they couldn't see if their racers were coming. So I'm going to cut them down a bit and besides they'll pack better that way too :thumbsup2

Susie:

Would it be possible to show us a similar map but just a little bit south? I tried to do it on my computer, but I can't seem to get google earth on it. The reason I ask is because my husband will be watching 3 family members on Sunday and we all have very different times. It looks like he may be able to do a really quick crossover from approximately Mile 8 to Mile 13. The map that Disney gives us doesn't have much detail so I can't tell if there's a hazard which will restrict him from getting from one place to the other. Could you please check the Google map and see if this is possible? Thanks so much!
