WDW Half and Marathon Email and Phone Alerts-Did you get them?

Most of my friends and family got the text messages no problem, including myself. I got all my splits within a few minutes of crossing the timing mat. The only delayed message was after we finished, that took about 10 minutes to get.

However, I ran with my girlfriend and for some reason the timing mat didn't pick up her half-mary and finish time, but it got the 5, 10, and 20mi mark just fine. Weird.

I set them up on my DHs phone and my email. They came in within 3-5 minutes of crossing a checkpoint. I was using that to keep track of my own pacing, by checking my emails on my phone.

The alerts didn't work for me- we signed my husband's cell phone to receive texts and emails at the expo for the marathon and he didn't get any updates. Luckily, it did not cause any problems!

My text message and emails for the half did not work. The ones for the full came thru without a problem.

I signed up for email alerts to me, both days. Did not receive any. Not one. Checked spam folder and nothing there either.

We added DH for texts for my DS and me, both events. He got half texts for both of us. Nothing came for the full.

Darn disappointment to me.

DH wasn't going to sign up due to the poor reporting timing of previous years. Last minute he said that he would want to try. So we sat at the table and did it on site. Waste of time.

We set my wife up for texts and she was telling me congratulations on finishing before I could text her myself.

Sorry for those of you it didn"t work for. It past years we did email and that didn"t work as well but this year the texts did very well for us.

I actually ended up getting 2 texts for each check point for the full - I think I might have signed my phone up twice.

I signed up for text message alerts for 7 different people for the half, and 2 for the full. Didn't get any of them. It was annoying because we were trying to use them to coordinate meeting up at the end of the race. I did get all the email alerts, though.

The e-mails worked well for us (for the half), except that the 5K time wasn't sent at all. The texts also worked well, except, again, for the 5k split, and one phone didn't get any splits.

I got texts and emails for myself and 3 friends. Mine came instantly through text. Email had a little lag. For my friends, I got the one half marathon runner completely. One other half runner though, I got her 15k time the next day (but got her finish time correctly).

I got double texts for my phone for the half, but my DH and Sis didn't get any. For the full they all came through fine.
