We are about to move from just outside of Boston to a northern suburb of Delaware and it seems that Philly is the closest airport.

I am spoiled by the many choices at Logan and can't figure out what a good choice to Orlando is out of Philly. Or if there are alternative airports near the newark, wilmington area.

It was nice to choose from Jet Blue, Song and the majors depending on the time of year and flight times. I can't find much non-stop at reasonable prices and times.

Any ideas? Thanks

TJ

southwest flies out of Philly and you may not be that far from Baltimore which also has southwest flights. US air is the big airline from philly, not sure what is the big airline out of baltimore. not sure what else is around

Welcome to our small state!

AirTran, Southwest, and USA 3000 are going to be the most economical flights out of Philly.
I've heard of people taking flights out of Atlantic City to save $$$, but that is too far of a drive for me!

May I ask.... are you moving for business reasons? If so, what company do you work for? Excuse me if I am being too nosey!

LOL, and thanks! I will look at southwest but I didn't see them at first glance to orlando.

We are moving for business reasons, my dh got a great opportunity with the company he now works for but they are not located in Delaware. He does financial planning for a company located out of houston texas. Sorry so vague but I am leary of the public forum - been burned before!

Off to check SW.

check out sidestep.com. it will automatically show you neighboring airport flights with fares.

Southwest has more flights from BWI to MCO than PHL to MCO. (BWI has approx 10 per day compared to approx 4 per day.) SWA out of BWI also has better deals. I've flown out of both airports and prefer BWI, especially with the new terminal.

Thanks - I am still trying to figure out where everything is and it looks like BWI is only about 15 minutes further away than PHL. I thought PHL was much closer than it is!

It looks like BWI is worth the drive. Thanks all

I live in northern Delaware and PHL in about 20 mins for me. BWI is about 1 1/2 hrs. from my house if I don't hit traffic  Did it once 4yrs (BWI) ago and will never again. It's worth paying and extra $25 to $50 per ticket then drive to BWI. JMO

We now use AIRTRAN all the time ( non-stop).

Not a problem. I usually don't ask such personal questions, but my own company is going through some changes, so I was wondering if it could be related to that.

And I completely understand about posting such information on a public forum. I am very careful about that myself!
