Has anyone seen or used Disney World software for their Pocket PC? I have seen a couple on the internet and was hoping for some reviews. They contained, maps, guides, tips, etc. It would be much easier carrying my PPC than guidebooks, etc. Thanks in advance. Karen

I've never used a PocketPC version of any guide, but I do have an app called ListPro...it's a simple list manager/checklist/database. Someone created a comprehensive list of all the attractions, restaurants and shops for the parks. I think the restaurant entries give a rating on how expensive it is etc. Since you can edit the database any way you want, you might find it useful to create daily checklists of thigs to do...all kinds of stuff. You can also download a PDF version of park maps and put those on your PPC.

Of course the map/guide they give you at the gate, foled up in your real pocket can be just as useful!

Thanks! I'll have to look for that. Where are the lists that you mentioned?

Ack! Paper?! Folded?! Somehow we always start out with about 10 of these and then somehow we lose them all about an hour or two into the day. Besides, I have this fancy computer thingy, now I better use it! Thanks again for the help

You can get ListPro here:

List Pro Site

There's a link on that page for all the free lists that people have contributed. Another thing I've used this for is keeping track of pressed pennies/quarters when I was collecting them at the parks. You could also use it for pin collecting.

If you DO the pin thing, there was also a PPC app based on the PinPics.com database in which you could look up pretty much every pin ever made and get info about it.

The geek in me wants to know which PPC do you have?

I have a Dell Axim. I like it very much and have grown pretty attached to it. It was a gift but I know they are pretty reasonably priced compared to some. There are a couple disney programs I have seen. One, "WDW to Go" that I found on the Allears.com site even has a feature that will figure out the best transportation between sites. You plug in where you are and where you want to go and it tells you the best way to get there. In reviews, people seem to rate that feature pretty highly. Before I go downloading something though, I thought I'd get some feedback from others.

I couldn't find the download link on Deb's site, but being able to get the best transportation route IS a great feature if you don't know all the different ways. Especially from resort to resort.

The Axim is a great PPC by the way.

Have you heard of Calligrapher? It's a must-have handwriting input app for PPCs. Istead of usng the little "keyboard" or typing in one letter at a time, you can write whole words and sentences anywhere on the screen and it will accurately read it.

Now what I'd like to see is WDW broadcast the "Pal Mickey" info in a standard format so people with wireless Palms and PPCs can get that same up to the minute info.
