Has anyone done Cinderella's Royal Table as a couple? What was it like?

DH and I are changing plans for our final night, after reports Le Cellier has taken the dish we both wanted off the menu... so I've decided to spend our final evening in MK. We've currently got a 7pm reservation for CRT that I was able to grab this morning... (We also have a slightly late California Grill reservation on hold too, but I'm leaning towards CRT as the tip is included in the dining plan, and it means not needing and leave the park AND getting to go into Cinderella Castle! :) ).

Hi all, LOVE this idea--wish the mods had made this its own category. The "wedding/honeymoon" board just isn't what I'm looking for. so far, I've gotten a LOT of help from you on other boards with my basic questions. Dates: 13-20 Dec. Who: couple w/out kids mid-30s; not "crazy commando kids" -- more laid back and in for the "atmosphere and fun"; relaxed, easy going and hopefully fun to be around. I am looking for ideas for the DDP. Ideally with great views of the fireworks. 1 x out of park for "holiday wishes". Plus: pros out there--our monday is looking to be DHS with late hours and finding a "classic restaurant" is proving challenging (we get italian here a LOT). Anywhere close by out of the park to be recommended? (I have NOT clue about the distances, etc. from park to park and resorts to parks, etc.)

At Epcot, rose and crown would be your best vet for fireworks with dinner. I like La Hacienda and have always had luck with a window fireworks seat but it's not guaranteed.

For MK, I would do Narcoosee's or Cali Grill for your dinner outside of the park, but they are signature and each take 2 credits. You also get to see the amazing Christmas decorations at these resorts as well (added bonus). And they are on the monorail so easy to get to after a day at MK

For HS, any Epcot area resort would be a short walk or boat ride. For signature, there is Yachtsman and Flying Fish. Also Beaches and Cream, Captain's Grille and Cape May Cafe and the other restaurants at Boardwalk and Swan and Dolphin are also options that take 1 credit. Added bonus of decorations at all these resorts as well. But personally, I love 50s Prime Time in DHS. Unfortunately, DHS fireworks are part of Fantasmic so they can't really be seen from any restaurant.

You can look at menus for these and every other restaurant on All Ears (sorry on my phone and can't post the link!)

My boyfriend and I are going to be there the same time you are and have Narcoosee's, Cape May Cafe, beaches and cream, and 50's Prime Time scheduled from what I listed above!

Thank you soooo much, lam0037! I am so glad that People here help us newbies. I would be lost without all the advice/help. I just want to arrive and let go and enjoy our first USA holiday season (ok, over the top, but...). He has never been to the USA before.

That is exactly the type of advice I am looking for. How great that we will be there at the same time (you are the first to tell me that!)

We are planning to do a 4-day base ticket (we can "upgrade" to 5 if we want at the gate, right? I think I read that somewhere) with 1 day in each park. We may do 2 days in Epcot for the Candlelight Proc.
Other days are for just relaxing, etc. possibly a day at US (Mannheim Steamrollers there this year?).

I read about "Self-Touring the Hotels" on a website and we are so doing that. In fact, I am hoping FI will be bringing the mini-tripod so we could maybe get some classy couple's pics at each resort (just not wealthy enough to hire a photog for the day).
Your idea of the Cali Grill/Narcossie fits well with that--if we did it on a "MVMCP" day, would we see the Holiday Wishes from there with Music, etc.?

I am planning HS for a late hours day. I read about the 50s diner and thought it would be good theming, BUT we are from Germany and my very German FI may not appreciate the "scolding, etc." I have read can happen there. Is there Fantasmic pkg with the 50's Prime Time--and will we need it? (I admit--I love fireworks and decorations, etc.)
It would work with going through the Lights Show afterwards, right? :confused3

I still haven't called in my ressies. I am HOPING BOG will still have room for 2 (or we just get lucky with a cancellation). My TA is on vaca (in WDW :rotfl:) and for some reason my link to MyDisney won't link to my hotel ressie so I can't make reservations, right? :confused3

Welcome! To answer your question: YES, YOU CAN MAKE ADR's. Those who are staying off-site can make plans to eat anywhere and use the same system to make these reservations as those who stay on-site. They can be linked to your hotel reservation AFTER the fact, no sweat!

Have a great holiday

thank you so much!

Any adult couples out there that have done the Hoop Dee Doo Revue? My boyfriend and I are getting very excited for upcoming trip (9 days away!) and we thought it might be fun to try this dinner show. We're both kids at heart and we think the menu sounds delicious, but I wasn't sure if we'd feel completely out of place.

I have not been to that one but it is my experience that everything at Disney is for everyone. DH and I love going to character meals and never feel out of place.

I booked the HDDR & Spirit of Aloha dinner yesterday for the DH & I! We don't go until late Aug, so I'll be anxious to see how you guys liked it!

The HDDR is so much fun! And the food is good as well. Best fried chicken I've had in years!

Has anyone done the Illuminations Sparkling Dessert Party lately? I have if booked for my Sept trip but keep reading mixed reviews on the threads. Seriously thinking of canceling.

I had it booked for our August trip and canceled based on everything I'd read. I book the After Hours Wind Down in its place. It's gotten mixed reviews too, but at least there will be seating and good booze (I booked La Cava)

I agree! It is much appreciated.

Any suggestions for resorts at WDW that cater most to adults/couples?

We booked the MK equivalent party and it was great!

Sorry I meant to reply to this one. We booked the MK equivalent dessert party for Wishes and it was fantastic!

Never done illuminations party, but did the wishes desert party in February this year. It also gets mixed reviews but we really enjoyed it. It's more relaxed, out of the crowd and stuff. I think ppl aren't impressed with the food spread - but we liked it well enough. I'd do wishes party again.

We love the Contemporary (specifically Bay Lake Tower) if on a lower budget Port Orleans French Quarter.

We did the Wishes Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party in Dec 2013. It was amazing!! So when I saw the advertisements for the IllumiNations SDP, I thought it would have the same ambience & since it is just the DH & I this trip it would be romantic. But standing juggling desserts after a full day at Epcot doesn't seem romantic. I'm holding out until closer till, but figure I'll cancel.
