I just booked the Epcot After Hours Wind Down for our August trip. Looks like a perfect thing to do as a couple!

We plan to do this on our next trip too. Looks like fun.

Haven't read the whole thread yet, by have a question...my DH and I are talking about possibly going without kids in the fall or early next year. We have 4 kids ages 6-14 and we've taken them three times. We've never gone without them and I'm not sure how they would handle it. They love it as much as we do. How do you guys break it to the kids that you're going to WDW, but without them??

we did the same as Disney212. dd was 15 at the time and she knew she would be going on the next trip. for four years dw and I would head down in September by ourselves and the three us would go down in june. it worked well and dd didn't have a problem with it.(until she became a cm at which point I get the daily pictures "guess where im at"......and...... "yummmmmm, these mickey bars are gooood pictures" :lmao:) they get you back one day so just go and have fun.:thumbsup2

..my DD got me back last week, sending pictures of my favorite treats at my favorite place while I was working. I will return that favor. Ha ha

I strongly suggest Raglan Road for couples would want to dine in Downtown Disney. It's a bit more quiet at lunch time (during dinner time there is a band and irish dancers) and the menu is a bit more affordable. Both experiences were good.

I have never tried dining outside but it looks nice too.

I suggest a wishes cruise. It's kind of pricey at about $300, but oh so romantic and just a super cool experience. Also a very unique way to see the fireworks, and trust me you can't get any closer to the electrical water pageant than on a boat!

You can make it super special by ordering a custom cake or dinner for on the boat. Really memorable experience!

We both have been to WDW as kids, but that was so long ago! We are going May 13th to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. Our 18m old son will be staying home with grandma :cool1:
For you more experienced WDW couples, what are some must do's while there? We have been through so much(infertility{primary&secondary}, miscarriage, and then our son has health issues..), and this will be the first time we will be able to get away to really reconnect since our honeymoon! :lovestruc

Welcome to the boards! :yay: Can't answer your question as it is our first time at WDW too. But in our case we are celebrating our 25th anniversary. We are doing the Wishes Dessert Party and taking the Keys to the Kingdom tour. Enjoy your get away!

as someone pointed out the wishes cruise is nice. narcoossee's is a nice place to eat along with a few others for couples.
I have been there as a kid, adult, dad and an empty nester and some of the best times dw and I have are just hanging out in the parks. we get something to snack on or drink and find a bench for an hour. im guessing you want to hit all the rides and try to do it all but find time just to find an hour and flop down on a bench in the shade....... you will love it. :thumbsup2

you will love keys to the kingdom!!!! I did it three times over the last few years. I did it with my dd who loved it. now, I couldn't pay her to do it. :lmao:

most likely your guide is going to ask you if you know, what they call "the four keys" are? when your guide ask , throw your hand up!!!!!
tell him/her they are: safety, courtesy, show and efficiency..... in that order.(make sure after you rattle all four off you say "in that order") they will love it!!!! :thumbsup2

Ooh! Thanks for the answers! :rotfl2: Glad to hear you liked it. I've always wanted to take that tour. I love taking tours of any kind anyway. I like knowing how things work.

I wont spoil it for you but I will tell you they go through a lot of history. ive done it three times and had three different guides and had three different tours.(anibal was the best guide we have had) all very good. some people have posted that it was a waste of time that they knew everything they talked about anyway. im guessing they didn't have a good guide or just didn't ask any questions.ive been going there and reading about the place for 40 years and learned a lot on all three tours, just have to ask questions. they will answer just about anything you ask them unless its a trade secret or a security issue.

Must do's for us are:

-Dinner at 'Ohana, dinner at Raglan Road, playing mini-gof at Fantasia Gardens and as much time as possible in the pool and the spa. We enjoyed Splitsville bowling too and we definitely wanna go back.

Love all of those too but Splitsville as we haven't tried it yet. We will be going for the first time on our next trip.

It looks like the DTD expansion will include more adult centered upscale restaurants. I am hope they bring back at least one adult club but I don't think that will happen. Any thoughts?

This may sound silly but we've never been to WDW without kids so there's quite a but if adult stuff we don't know. We are doing in July for 5 nights alone and so excited, but my question is, since we're staying offsite how do we get to the boardwalk area? We've never been there with our kids but we'd like to go this time. Thanks

Your best bet would be a taxi or you can valet if you drive. You could also park at Epcot and walk over but make sure you leave in time to get back through the park before it closes.

Would love to see a couples sticky!

DH (44) and I (39) will be headed to the World in Oct. 2015 for F&W. This will be our first "alone" trip over our 19th anniversary. While we don't have children (by choice) DH's first trip was in 2005 with 13 of my closest family. We went again in 2011 with his BFF, wife, and two boys. We decided the next trip was for us and us alone.

While we had a fantastic time each time with the "others" we also felt like we were either "entertaining" or "being tour guides" the entire time. There was no personal time for us to do as we wish. The tentative game plan this time around is to splurge on a moderate (all previous trips were budget at PoP), buy park hoppers and water parks, and plan on getting moving early in the am, taking a water/nap break in the afternoon, and heading back in the evenings. We are both foodies who can't wait to try F&W.
