What are your favorite counter service restaurants at EPCOT, DS, and AK? Last trip we were on we ate well and splurged, but this trip we are truly on a budget. Does anyone have any good recommendations?

Last time the only three counter service restaurants we tried were Flame Tree BBQ, a place in China, and a place in Mexico (forgot the names).

So many good choices for CS in Epcot! Here are a few of my favorites: Fish & Chips in the UK, Tangerine Cafe in Morocco, Biergarten in Germany (according to DH who loves German good), Sunshine Seasons in The Land.

AK: We really like Flame Tree & the Italian sandwich at Pizzafari. Haven't tried Y&Y's CS yet, but we like Yak & Yeti :thumbsup2

DHS: This is a tough one. I can't stand Pizza Planet (not fond of their sauce) and will never ever go back to the Commissary! Yuck! Maybe Starring Rolls or Studio Catering Company :confused3

In Epcot, Sunshine Seasons in the Land is delicious and has lots of good variety. We ate there several times on our last trip, and DD never got bored.

MK - We love Cosmic Rays

Epcot - We have to eat at Tangierine Cafe, the food there is incredible

DTD - OMIGOD WPE is to die for

Would WPE be a good place to meet friends for lunch? Right now we are meeting friends at Raglan Road (the one and only NON-counter place we are planning to eat), but if WPE is just as good and there is a place to sit and visit- I might consider meeting them there instead?

WPE was awesome when we were there on our last trip, great food. It's good because it's counter service but after you order your food, you get a number, you get your drinks and then you find a table and they bring the food to you. It has a large dining room and was quiet when we were there, so yes, it would be good to meet friends and catch up. Enjoy!

Epcot - Sunshine Seasons, hands down!

AK - I only had C/S once this trip & would NOT recommend Yak&YEti walk up....I'm sorry, but dumping sauce on chicken nuggets doesn't make it Chinese food! Yuck!!!

DHS- also a tough one. Probably starring rolls.

Epcot - Tangierine Cafe is our fav CS in all of WDW. Sunshine Seasons is good too.

DHS - Sorry, but we go back to the resort, just don't like any choices there.

AK - Flame Tree was pretty good, not great, but not bad either.

Epcot: Tangierine Cafe in Morocco is a MUST for us!!! We fell in love with it in July and look forward to returning on our next trip. We each got the combo platter (chicken and lamb) and everything was delicious! Tasted how it was supposed to taste and not like traditional "theme park food".

DHS: I liked the Pizza Planet Chicken Salad at Pizza Planet. Pizza is not so good but better than other theme park pizzas I have tried. I did really enjoy the salad though! Never tried other CS at DHS, but not many great choices (mostly run of the mill, like burgers and fries). Maybe we will try Studio Catering next time, or just go back to our hotel (BWV) and grab a sandwich.

AK: Flame Tree BBQ! Also not many choices at this park for CS. Loved the pork sandwich and DH loved the ribs. DS3 was happy with his hot dog and DS1 shared my sandwich with plenty to go around for both of us!!

Epcot - Boulangerie Patisserie - not a huge selection but what there is, is very good (apart from beautiful pastries there's a cheese plate and filled croissants/baguettes)

DHS - I'm not a lover of any of the CS options but if I had to pick it would be Starring Rolls

AK - I used to like the Tusker House but now it's a buffet it's no longer an option, if I had to choose I'd say Flametree BBQ

AK gotta say Flame Tree. Yak N Yeti is lame mall Chinese at best.

DHS we liked the salads at the Toulouca Turkey Leg company. (Or whatever it is called. Outdoor food court type area outside of Beauty & The Beast theater.)

Epcot - The Land is ok, but Pick a Country, any Country. Morocco is outstanding.

Sunshine Seasons has a very good selection. I also love Tangerine Cafe in Morocco, but the family doesn't care much for it.

I loved Tangierine Cafe. But the last time I got the chicken wrap over there it was so cold there should have been icicles hanging off it. I didn't think the meat was supposed to be cold. I swear it wasn't cold last time I had it.

It'll now be hard for me to go back there and order anything but the veggie platter.

Epcot- Sunshine Seasons

AK- Flame Tree

DHS- Starring Rolls and Pizza Planet( I love Toy Story )

I've spent many a mid afternoon late lunch people watching at the outdoor:cool2: seating in front of the ABC Commissary and splitting either the cuban sandwich meal or the fish and chips meals. Both are generous! Plus, it offers a truly decent breakfast platter not available at any other CS in a park that I know of! Anyway, I seem to end up there whenever I'm at the Studios and haven't had anything to complain about except maybe the crowds that accumulate during "traditional" dining hours. Hope you have a great trip!

Thanks for the tips! I'm putting them into my CS list that I'm making for my first trip to the world - woo hoo!

I totally agree - I didn't think Y&Y walk up was good at all.
