WDW family Traditions

We ride Spaceship Earth before leaving Epcot for the last time (for that trip!) :sad1:

Taking pics where we took some of our favorite past pics; the muppet fountain, in front of the fountains @ Epcot, etc

We name our rental car

We always go to MK first
Since dd first trip at age 1 there is always a picture of her on the carrousel(she's getting ready for trip 5 at age 5)
And what didn't really start as a tradition but has become a silly one is she trys on all the silly hats and I take her picture.
The last place we go is MK at night because it is SOOOO beautiful. A beautiful last hoorah.
We always visit our brick..it's the only way dd knows her daddy was there once upon a time.
We always cry when it's time to leave....

Always on our last night, our whole family rides our last ride, the Carousel in MK. Been doing it since 1979. One thing I wish we would have done, was take a family picture in the exact same place each trip..year after year.

The first day we're there we always go right to MK. My sister and I get a picture of us in front of the Castle by a CM (so it's that "professional look" as my mom puts it) and my mom displays it in our family room. So far we have 4 of the both of us and 2 by myself. The night we first arrive also must be capped off with watching Wishes! We also always have to eat at Coral Reef. I must go on Rock N' Roller Coaster at least 4 times, it's my lucky number. Buy a dream catcher at the Mercantile at WL.

Our last night family dinner is ALWAYS at Teppanyaki. We watch Illuminations before we head back to the hotel.

Ours is at the end actually. The last thing we do is have ice cream on Main Street, from that ice cream place on the corner! We sit there and eat it and just take it all in.

At the end of everyday while on vacation, we stop somewhere and pick up a chocolate dipped Mickey rice krispy treat to eat on the way back to our room and while we snack and walk we have to share the 3 best things that made us happy that day. :goodvibes

My family loves Epcot best, so we always visit it first, and we always start with a visit to Figment, in the spirit of embracing the imagination used to create WDW! Fortunately, we were spared visiting during the "without Figment era", since he's one of our favorite characters.

We also had the tradition of riding Horizons multiple times in a row just before FW closed, and each time we would pick a different ending for our mode of transportation home - we'd all agree on it as we got on the ride, then voted unanimously when the time came. Sigh. One family tradition that will not be passed down to the next generation...

We always arrive on a Sunday and stay at OKW.That evening we attend 7:15 performance of HDDR.Then go on late hayride and then walk down to beach and see Electric Water Parade. On December trip same thing plus we go to MVMCP and CP plus Osborne Lights. That's what we've been doing each year since 1992. :goodvibes :wizard: :wave2:

Ever since it opened, we have gone to AK on the first full Sunday - in fact this year we have PS for the Mother's Day brunch at Epcot and we've been having mild anxiety at hitting Epcot before AK!

DH always has to eat at Flame Tree and he has to have a turkey leg

Pirates. Can't miss Pirates.

DS's favorite tradition is Chef Mickey's.

And getting a photo by whatever DVC sign is at our hotel - last time it was the topiary Mickey outside the villas at WL, this trip it'll be Ariel at the Beach Club.

We have a couple of traditions. First, we always try to eat at Boma's our first night there. Before this, we usually take ride the resort monorail and then transfer to the Epcot monorail and make that loop.

DD went last July when she was 3 months old. I decided to buy her a new charm every trip. Bought the first then and I'll buy the next one when we go in June.

I read a post on here somewhere about a woman who takes her daughter's picture in Minnie's chair every year. I think I might borrow that tradition. I need to find a good place to take a picture of both of my kids together so I can see how they grow...any suggestions.

We also always buy a silver balloon and keep it the whole trip. On the last day we take it back to the park with us and give it to another little boy or girl ! We always end with breakfast at Chef Mickeys ! We also have to get a Sundae and Ghiradelli !

We always ride It's A Small World as our first and last ride. This started with my parents when I was little and now it is something I have done with my boys. The boys were so sad when it was closed in December. Fortunatly it was reopened for our trip a couple of weeks ago. It looks great and we were able to continue our tradition.
