WDW Facts! Did you know...

This would mean there would be monorails criss-crossing the cresent lake between the two hotels if the squares were for future monorail tunnels. He has also used black squares on many of the buildings he designed during the same period that he designed the Swan and Dolphin.

That would be very cool :cool1:

The Winnie the Pooh ride at MK used to be "Toad's Wild Ride". When you go through Owl's house and look to the left, there is a pic of MR.Toad handing over a deed to Owl.

Did you know when Walt needed some money to restart his business that two of his brothers offered to help him out? :sunny:
One brother gave him a " loan" insisting that the money be paid back with interest. :sad2:
The other brother didn't want to be paid back .Instead he wanted to be a partner in the new venture. :hyper2:
Any idea which brother . I'll give you one guess. :rolleyes1

I'm going to guess it was Roy who wanted to be part of the venture.

you have the honor of being right!

Don't you wonder what " the other brother " ( I can't even remember his name , thats how much of an impression he made) thinks of his decision?

Did you know Spaceship Earth is 180 ft tall 165 ft wide and weighs approx 16 million pounds. :cool1:

Which explains the huge swath of destruction cut through the eastern states when it was rolled down from the factory in New York. (sorry couldn't resist)

Did you know? If you loose your glasses while riding Space Mountain, they will mail them to your home or hotel. They actually clean the floor each night and pick up all the things people lost on the ride. This happend to my Dad this past May.

I haven't seen this one yet...

It has been rumored that the spires of Cinderella Castle are removable in the event of a hurricane as not to cause damage to the castle. This rumor is false; the spires (like the rest of the external structure) are made of fiberglass and are permanently attached.

Thanks,
Jared

Here's another one...

In Fantasyland (I believe North-Northwest of the castle) there is a statue of Cinderella. Behind the statue is a pattern mural; in the mural is a crown. When viewing Cindy face-to-face it appears as if the crown is sitting on Cindy’s head.

Next to that same statue is a drinking fountain. The fountain is lower than normal; this is on purpose, because in order to get a drink from that fountain one must bow to Cinderella.

Thanks,
Jared

Different version of a repeated nugget...

People have already mentioned that Walt’s name is the only one on the windows of the Main St. buildings that faces Cinderella Castle. The version of this story I’ve heard is that Roy did this so Walt is the only one who has a view of the castle. Roy wanted his brother to have the best view in Magic Kingdom

Thanks,
Jared

Can't win them all...

I too was going to mention the modular design of the rooms in the Contemporary (too bad someone beat me to it), and the fact that the building has settled to the point where the rooms are basically “stuck” in place.

Thanks,
Jared

This is not true. It was explained on the Walt Disney World: Behind the Scenes on the Travel Channel. It would be cool if they were.

That's cool. People will need to advise the CM's but it's nice to know you can reclaim your lost items.

You should have read the entire post, I explain that the rumor is false. The spires are permanently attached.
