I was reading threads about the increases in DL Annual pricing and was curious about the DVC Discount... I see it was still a $20 discount, which for $600+ tickets is absurd...

However, I went over to the WDW page (knowing about the $100 discount) and saw something very interesting... Seems like new prices and discounts are loaded on the page... Even with taxes, we do not have a $150 discount on tickets...

Interesting - checking CF's ticket sticky, he had the DVC AP price of $419, which was a $100 discount.

If that DVC member info is right (I went to the DVC site and looked) - our price went up $6, and it's now a $149 savings vs. $100, so 49+6 = $55, that would suggest that the new AP price for everyone is $519 (old price) + $55 = $574. That's about an 11% increase.

I haven't seen anything posted anywhere else, but they do often get notice on Fridays for increases starting Sunday. I'm sure we will know soon enough if today is the day (or Sunday).

Vicki, the DVC AP discount for DLR is only $20, which is what the OP was referring too. I agree - pretty cheap of Disney.

I thought it was very interesting because if you do the math on the existing AP prices it is nothing close to a $149 savings... My guess is that these reflect new WDW AP pricing which has yet to be announced...

$20 might have been a nice discount a few years and a couple of hundred dollars in DL AP pricing ago but now? Yikes!

So far, only the Member Website has this pricing. DVC is usually late in posting these kind of changes.

If you go thru the process to actually pre-purchase an AP, it's still the current (as of June 2011) prices.

At the bottom he was posting WDW pricing - he only mentioned that he knew the DL discount was only $20. The question was about hints at what the new WDW prices will be. My answer = high! :)

WDW AP pricing on the member website has been reverted back to the June 2011 pricing.

LOL - oops! And what are the chances that some sharp eyed DVC DIS member sees it in that short time and comes and posts about it here?

I will bet you $574 that those will be the new AP prices. (just kidding - I'm not quite that brave.)

We just renewed at the beginning of the month with the DVC discount and it was $374 without taxes. Hmmmmmm

Can you renew early at present prices?

I think you have to be within 60 days of your renewal date to do that, but I'd have to go check to be sure. My inclination would be to buy a new voucher and hold it until next year. For two tickets, that would save us over a $100 additional savings.

The renewal window is 30 days before/after the expiration date printed on the back of the pass. If you pay for the renewal over the phone with MS, the renewal is not complete until you physically get your new pass at WDW.

so does that mean you can pay for the renewal and not "activate it" for a few months? would your pass be backdated to the original annual pass expiration date or have a year expiration from when it was activated?

When you buy a renewal voucher, it is always backdated to the original date of your pass.

So, even if the voucher is bought ahead of time and not traded in until after the date on the AP, the first date will be the same as the original.

So if the annual pass is really only going up 6 bucks then we should wait till july to get them because we have some two day base tickets to put towards the purchase of our new dvc passes (two day bace ticket went up by 8 bucks so we are actually getting a better deal.) Is my math correct ????

As of Sunday the premium tickets will not get as much of a dvc discount as the regular so this math does not work for them but the only way to put old tickets towards new ones you have to be down in Disney ... Right ??

Where are you getting a difference of only $8 from?

The two day adult bace ticket is 168 on the Disney web page right now but will be going up to 176 on Sunday so the difference is 8 bucks. I actually got these tickets many years ago but never used them and just became a dvc member last month so I want to apply them to our new dvc passes.
