WDW during Christmas week?

NY's Day is not that crowded--especially if you (again!) do RD--so many people were up late and are sleeping in! Most crowd calendars say it's a good day to MK.

I've read that a lot of people spend Christmas Day resort hopping! Go see the gingerbread displays, maybe do a carriage ride, etc.

We will spend our first Christmas/NY's at Disney this year!
I would like to do NYE at Epcot..any tips? Will we need to be there all day or we can we arrive later in the day..if so-how late?
