I cannot find any information on the WDW website about their boarding kennels! Can anyone point me to the info, or tell me about experiences and prices and stuff here?

We were thinking of bringing our Chewie with us on this next trip, but now it's a moot point because I found out that Southwest Airlines does not allow pets on board at all, either in the cabin or in cargo, and we already have our tickets with them. So this is just for future reference.

From Disney.com:

With the exception of service dogs for Guests with disabilities, pets are not permitted in the Theme Parks or hotels, or on the Resort or Theme Park buses. They may, however, stay in one of the air-conditioned kennels, which are members of the American Boarding Kennel Association.
Pet Care Kennels are located adjacent to the Park entrances at Epcot®, Disney-MGM Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park. At the Magic Kingdom® Park the Pet Care Kennels are located adjacent to the Transportation and Ticket Center.

Kennel fees are $6 per day and/or $9 per night per animal for Walt Disney World® Resort Guests ($6 per day or $11 per night for non-Walt Disney World Resort Guests). Guests will be required to visit their pets at least once daily. Dog owners will need to walk their dogs at least twice daily (three times daily for puppies). The kennel at Epcot® offers a dog walking service for $2.50 per walk.

Resort reservations do not guarantee a kennel space for your pets; you should call for availability. Though the kennels have been designed for pets such as dogs and cats, they also accept birds, ferrets, small rodents and non-venomous snakes, if in their own carriers. The kennels are not set up to accommodate exotic animals. All Guests are required to show records of vaccination (rabies, parvo, DHLP, Bordetella for dogs; rabies, FPRC for cats) prior to boarding.

On a personal note:
We have kept our 2 Boxers, Matilda & Arlo, in the kennels at Ft. Wilderness. The CMs who work there are fantastic. We stopped by 3-4 times a day to walk 'em and give 'em a little love and the accomodations are extremely clean and don't have that kennel smell I'm sure all dog owners pick up on when at a substandard kennel..

thank you! wonder why I couldn't find that on their site.

Wish we could bring her with us. :( That's a WAY better price for board than we're going to be paying! And we'd still see her every day. :(

Laugh O Grams - Is your Arlo named after Arlo Guthrie by any chance? That's the only time I've heard the name, just curious.......

Ugh!! I know what you're talking about! To board our furry kids in a kennel here, we have to travel about 30 minutes upstate to get a decent price...which happens to be $60/day for both dogs in a large kennel, with a private outdoor run together. Forget about keeping them here in the city...the price is out of control!!

No...although we should probably start telling people that he is. We're asked that all of the time! :) The extremely lame and boring reason is we found it on a baby names site and we though it fit his face. Although you know what...his hanging jowels kind of look "Arlo Guthrian". :teeth:
