The last two visits to WDW we went to Biergarden in Epcot for dinner. It's a fun time with beer for us and the band and dancing on the main floor for the kids. It was nice but we're going to try something different for our trip in March of 2016.

We are looking for a different place to have dinner that would have some family entertainment and good food.

I'm looking at the Spirit Of Aloha dinner but it is two dinners on the dining plan.

recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Teppen Edo is great if you like that type of food and its only 1 credit on the dining plan. If you are considering stuff thats in the 2 credit realm like the spirit of aloha dinner I would suggest mickeys backyard bbq. We did that in April and my kids LOVED it. They thought it was so cool to be up dancing with mickey and friends and my older son thought the guy that did the lasso tricks was really cool. We did however end up paying out of pocket for this experience though. I can't really see spending 2 credits on anything and we were planning to go to CRT as well. It really was a ton of fun!

My family likes Raglan Road in DTD. Coral Reef has the huge tank that is pretty cool to see during dinner. Both are 1 TS credit.

I would suggest HDDR or Spirit of Aloha for a fun night. Yes both are 2 TS credits, but so much fun and both have been a part of Disney Dinner Shows for as far back as I can remember. I think families should experience each one at least once if possible.

HDDR. It's 2 TS credits, but IMO its completely worth it since you are getting an AYCTE meal plus unlimited wine, beer or SANGRIA plus a dinner show that last close to 2 hours.

This. You're welcome.

I personally would pick HDDR over the SoA show. Just my preference.

I have awesome memories of going to the Hoop de Doo Revue as a small child and is something we always still do on longer trips (only on longer trips now because we have seen it so many times).

And to this day, I can't eat strawberry shortcake without singing.

It gets knocked on here a lot but for my family, it really is a rollicking good time and has been a favorite for years.

LOL! I like HDDR, but cannot drag my adult family members. A few years ago we arrived on Thanksgiving Day, and because we decided to go as far from a traditional meal, we chose to go to SoA. I loved it!

A few days later DH and I took my then 11 YO DGD to HDDR, and Holy Hilarious! I still don't know what I enjoyed more: my DH laughing so hard he was crying or my too cool for school DGD who was bored to tears by the show but mesmerized by her Pa. Honestly, that was some of the best money we spent that trip.

HDDR and SoA are both great choices. Don't worry about the number of credits.

HDDR - We went to this on just about every single trip when I was younger and I am looking forward to taking my wife and kids to see this in 2017. The show is awesome (though there are some REALLY corny jokes...but that's part of the fun!). The food is good too. If you're still hungry they will keep bringing it. I mean seriously...if you went to a show of this caliber outside fo WDW you would probably pay close to the same price and have no food. Totally worth it. Advice: bring something warm to wear. I seem to recall it is a bit cold when you first get in there.

SoA. The "Luau" show is one that I used to hate as a kid. I didn't like the food (I was a burger and fries guy). I didn't get the music. The whole thing was boring. Then I grew up. If I remember correctly the show changed just a bit as well. And I started to like the food. In fact, I love the food. The show is fun. I believe this, too, would be worth while. It just depends on your interests for entertainment and food. Either one would be worth doing. I would probably not do both unless you have a nice disposable income...haha.
