Thank you everyone for keeping Jack in your thoughts and sending pixie dust. Unfortunately, over the past few days, Jack had stopped eating and became more lethargic than ever. It was torturing me to force the medicine on him and see him so weak , always wondering if he was going to be breathing the next time I looked at him. Last night, we decided to take him back to the animal hospital and they tested his blood. It had dropped significantly low, even lower than when he was first admitted to the hospital. (It was at 9%, a normal cat's is around 35%.) These past couple of weeks have been just heartbreaking but we knew we did everything we could for him...we really had no other choice but to have him put to sleep.
I couldn't stay in the room but Tom was with him, telling him what a good boy he was and how much we loved him. We feel so lucky to have been able to spend 9 years with the best cat in the world. We have so many happy memories and we will never forget him.
I just miss him so much.
