WDW/DCL Western Caribbean Honeymoon Extravaganza!! DONE!!! - PG 51!!

Thank you everyone for keeping Jack in your thoughts and sending pixie dust. Unfortunately, over the past few days, Jack had stopped eating and became more lethargic than ever. It was torturing me to force the medicine on him and see him so weak , always wondering if he was going to be breathing the next time I looked at him. Last night, we decided to take him back to the animal hospital and they tested his blood. It had dropped significantly low, even lower than when he was first admitted to the hospital. (It was at 9%, a normal cat's is around 35%.) These past couple of weeks have been just heartbreaking but we knew we did everything we could for him...we really had no other choice but to have him put to sleep.

I couldn't stay in the room but Tom was with him, telling him what a good boy he was and how much we loved him. We feel so lucky to have been able to spend 9 years with the best cat in the world. We have so many happy memories and we will never forget him.

I just miss him so much. :sad1:

Ohhh Nikki....I am so sorry. I will be praying for you and your husband during this hard time. Let us know if there is anything we can dofor you

Nikki and Tom --

I'm so, so, so sad for your loss. Your sweet Jack was obviously well-loved and cared for and he was very lucky to have such sweet "parents." HUGS...I know you will miss him. :sad1:

Nikki & Tom - I'm so sorry to hear about your loss.... we had to put our dog to sleep this summer, I know how you're feeling.

Pets are wonderful family members, remember the good times together

Nikki and Tom - thinking of you both and sending big hugs across the ocean:hug:

A very sad time for you - but what a lucky cat Jack was to be so loved by you.

I know it has been such a difficult time - and what an awful decision you had to make. But no more suffering for Jack now.

Loads of love

:hug:I totally understand, I went through this a year ago.
Let it out. You don't want to keep it inside.

Okay, if any of you know the 1989 romantic love song by Digital Underground, the Humpty Dance. ;) It is a stupid song but one of those fun ones you can't help but sing along to. Well, if you don't know the song, at one point the singer starts calling people of all cultures to "Do the humpty hump" "Black people...do the humpty hump. White people...do the humpty hump." He calls on a few others but the one I always laugh at is what he says..."Samoans..do the humpty hump." So every time we passed this building, I had to sing "Samoans! Do the humpty hump!" That's what I was doing in this picture! (Is this inappropriate? Sorry!)

I haven't finished reading your TR yet, but I had to stop and comment on this. It cracked me up! If I had seen that sign, I would've done the same thing!:lmao:

Hi Sweetie- I'm so, so sorry about Jack. He was such a lucky cat to be with both of you, and you were so lucky to share 9 years with him. I know it is so hard to say good-bye, because he was your baby. Hang in there-

Hugs & more hugs,
Ellen:hug:

Thanks guys!! :grouphug: It's so nice to have such kind words from everyone!

We're hanging in there. We know he's in a better place. Just getting used to not having him around....

THANK YOU!! You are the ONLY person who commented on this!! I'm so glad someone "got it!"

 I'm so sorry about Jack. But you were wonderful "parents" and took the very best care of him. It's so obvious he was very loved!

Nikki and Tom, I am so very sorry for your lose of your baby. Just know you both did all you could for him to make him feel better, it was just out of your hands. Jack was so very lucky to have the two of you love him and take care of him the way you did. He lived a very happy life. As hard as it is now, try to remember him with smiles and laughter because thats what he gave you every day.

Oh Nikki and Tom, I am so so sorry that Jack has passed. He was obviously very dearly loved. We had to put our beloved Ember, our 13 year old Dalmation, to sleep 2 days after last Christmas and it was one of the hardest decsions we've ever had to make. But, much like for Jack, it was unquestionably the right thing to do. My prayers are with you.
Annette

Nikki & Tom I'm am so sorry about Jack

I know you will both miss him v much, but at least he is at peace now.

Hope you are both doing ok

How are you guys doing??

Thanks Christy. We're hanging in there. We miss him so much. He was such a huge part of our everyday routines, evertying I've been doing today reminds me of him. It was especially hard finally picking up his food bowl and I still haven't taken away the litterbox yet.

We did this first thing when we got back.

I got rid of everything. I THINK, though I'm not 100% sure, it did help.

Hang in there you guys!

I'm thinking about you!
