WDW/DCL Western Caribbean Honeymoon Extravaganza!! DONE!!! - PG 51!!

You can't beat a quick rain shower to thin the herd!

I have to say that our rain jackets were excellent (good call, honey!). I would recommend to everyone that you get yourself some light, but high quality rain gear. You can get a LOT done at the parks while everyone runs for cover. Ponchos are better than nothing but if you have something a little more effective and sturdy it makes the rain a non-issue.

I just realized that you folks are probably rolling your eyes at my newb advice.:rotfl: Sorry! At least I'm not starting a "What's inside the Epcot golf ball?" thread. I'll try to be a good newb.

Wow, it is fun to say "newb." NOOOOOB. :lmao:

A quick snap of Nik working on the TR while Jack (AKA Mr. Browsy B.) requests some attention. She cannot be distracted!

Oh there's my good boy!! Isn't he so handsome? See how needy he is? It was SOOO hard to leave him for two weeks!

Hi Nikki!

I am new to your report and I am loving it.

All of your wedding pictures were fabulous, all the Disney touches were great. :thumbsup2

I love how nice and spacious the Poly rooms are, very nicely decorated too.

I went on a two week land and sea trip back in May and it was just the best, can't wait to read more. :thumbsup2

Awe. It was the first year we went to Disney and did not find out kitty pie waiting for us.

We had to put him to sleep last August. It was heart wrenching. He was 15 y/o.

I am trying to get my dad to allow me to get a cat. I have to let him allow me as I am still living at home for now (trying to move out next year), and the kitty will come with me hehehe

Oh Ohana looked so wonderful! ( sorry, I have just been catching up)
I have been explaining to DH how we need to try that the next time we go to WDW without the offspring:thumbsup2
food porn:rotfl2:
You guys looked like you had a great time in Epcot. MouseGear is THE best!
Your DH is not a noob! ;) How many people show up wearing either no rain gear or the kind that shreds right after you put it on? He offers wise advice worthy of repeating on the DIS. Any Floridian will tell you it rains fairly frequently in the summer.
Can't wait to hear more!

I know what you mean. We lost Jack's "sister," Kitty, to cancer just over two years ago. We were all devastated, INCLUDING Jack. It took him a long time to get over it and that was when he really became much more needy and clingy.

Oh there's much more Epcot to come!!! Yes, we always have a great time there!!

This is the photopass picture from our ride on Test Track that morning! I just got the cd in the mail today so now the TR will have Photopass pics in it too!!

Day 2 cont.
World Showcase and Chefs de France

We got to World Showcase right at opening and decided to walk counter clockwise. I had conflicting times for my lunch ADR. One place I had written down 11:30 but my online print out said 12:00 so I wanted to stop by the restaurant first thing to double check. They said they don't open until 12. So there it is.

We walked around and it started to rain. Everyone always gets the icon shots and I know this spot is a popular one but do I really need to take of pic of it every time? YES! ONLY IF, we are in it. So this is the "that time I took a picture of Tom with the China icon and SE in the background when it was raining and we wore our awesome ponchos" shot.

We kept on strolling and ended up at the Maelstrom. There was no line so we jumped on. This was one of the few times that we actually JUST MISSED the doors closing so we had to wait a few minutes before the movie. Well...before running through the theatre and into the gift shop. Sorry Norway! BUT, perfect time for a picture!
ry%3D400

As we started back around the lagoon again, I spotted the balloon from DTD for the first time. I was not aware you were able to see it from Epcot. I'm still not sure how I feel about that...
ry%3D400

We made it to Chefs at 12:00 and had to wait just a few minutes for our ADR. They were accepting all walk-ups too, FYI. The restaurant looked pretty empty the whole time we were there.
ry%3D400

Again, being a table for 2, we got an awesome seat!
ry%3D480

They give you bread right off the bat.
ry%3D400

We both decided on the 3 course menu.

I started the Soupe a l' oignon gratinee (french onion soup). It was just as delicious as I had always imagined it to be since I first saw it on Food Porn!
ry%3D480

Tom started with the Bisque de Homard (lobster bisque)
ry%3D480

Tom's main course was the Croque monsieur et sa salade verte (ham and cheese sandwich)
ry%3D400

Mine was the Gratin de Macaroni (baked mac and cheese) Also delicious!
ry%3D480

For dessert I got the Profiteroles au chocolat. This was soo good it was one of those dessert you eat that after every bite you just HAVE to go "mmmmmm!"
ry%3D480

Tom got the Creme brulee.
ry%3D400

Look who else we saw at lunch!!
ry%3D480

Okay, where are my Adventurer's Club lovers at??? Recognize this "Amelie?"
ry%3D400

As soon as I spotted her I knew who she was! She is one of the actors who used to work at the Adventurer's Club!! I was so excited! But of course, I didn't want to say anything because she was in character, speaking with a french accent and all, and I didn't want to make her uncomfortable or anything. So when she came over Tom thought of the PERFECT thing to say to test the waters..."We're almost sure we met a relative of yours at the Adventurer's Club." Well you can tell she just loved it! She said, "Oh which one? There were three!" (because they often switched roles) So we were talking about how we missed it and she said she missed it too. She even turned to Remy and said, "These are old friends of mine from when I used to work at the night club!" So I told her we were happy to see her there and she said, "Yes, it's nice to be employed!" It was still sad though to see such a talented woman pushing around a rat and talking with a French accent when she's really capable of so much more.

Now, let me just say, this was not the only former AC actor we saw on this trip. That makes me hopeful that they are keeping these people around for a reason...maybe, hopefully...

Up next...MORE WORLD SHOWCASE!!

YAY!! I'm so glad you're here! I was getting worried! Well, if you like the Coronas, there's plenty more drinks to be had in this TR!

My wife Sheri's FAVORITE...whenever "Epcot" and "France" are mentioned to her, the subject always seems to gravitate to the french onion soup!

Your lunch at Chefs looks yummy! Isn't that mac and cheese to die for?! :cloud9:

How neat that you recognized Amilie from the Adventurer's Club, I wish I had had a chance to go there. :guilty:

How fun that you got to see Daisy and Marie! We haven't seen them on our trips. Maybe next time...

I'm so glad someone else understands how important it is to stick to The Plan! LOL It's nice to know there are other people like me in the world. :goodvibes

Love all of your pictures -- so much fun! I love that you guys take fun pictures...I need to get DH to loosen up and have some fun in our pictures! The only thing he hates worse than having his picture taken is shopping...and I like to do lots of both at WDW!

The pictures from your lunch at Chefs de France...I'm going to show those to my Mom and see if they want to eat there when we go in October -- I think she would love it!

Wonderful, wonderful TR, Nikki and Tom!

Your lunch at Chefs de France looks so yummy. I am sad that we cancelled ours. But I was feeling really ill.

There's always a next time.

It seems you weren't feeling the increase in lateral forces.

They were taking walk ups the day we were there too and the restaurant looked very empty often.......

How was the lobster bisque? - I wanted to try it but hated to miss the French Onion....

ry%3D480

Your meal looks a lot like ours except I had the quiche instead of the baked mac and cheese. Did you have a bit of cheese overload that day? That was my only "complaint"

For dessert I got the Profiteroles au chocolat. This was soo good it was one of those dessert you eat that after every bite you just HAVE to go "mmmmmm!"

Tom got the Creme brulee.

Isn't Remy great? I wish they would keep him there, but I heard he leaves in September.
