WDW/DCL Western Caribbean Honeymoon Extravaganza!! 7/19-8/1 PTR

I have this shopping problem. It's actually quite different from most women's shopping problems. I actually very rarely shop. I'm the kind of person that goes to a store, gets what I came for and leave. I do not like to browse. I'm just too practical and I hate spending money on clothes unless I really need something.

BUT for some reason, whenever I have a trip planned, I have to buy and buy and buy!! In fact, if it wasn't for my Disney trips, I probably would never buy anything! (Okay, that's a little bit of an exaggeration.) But I didn't own a pair of shorts that fit before our first trip to WDW together and I think I bought 18 pairs for an 8-day trip. Disney trips is the only thing I get excited to buy stuff for!

I mention this now because I got some D23 merchandise in the mail today, including the red messenger bag that I thought would be perfect for future DH to use for excursions. The only problem is, I bought a personalized messanger bag a while ago when Disneyshopping had them on sale. In fact, I have about eight bags that would be appopriate for him to use but I guess I just wanted an excuse to buy something D23. Well, here it is.

What will I use for excursions?? This!

I am on this kick of buying "cruise casual" and this bag is SOOOO cruise casual!!

Hi Nikki! I saw your link on the July boards so I thought I'd tag along. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

Cool stuff!

Lucky member of D23.

The exchange rate is too bad right now for me to afford a membership, so I'll forget about exclusive merchandise ;)

:sad2: So sorry!

I love pics in tr's! Def. keep up w/ them!

Do you think it would be inappropriate to take it out and get a shot of the two of us on the alter during the ceremony??

OMG! That is too funny! I bet you'd get a great response if you were to do something like that! :rotfl:And BTW...I can NOT do self-pics! You must teach me!

How about a little wedding info??

Unfortunately, we are not having a Disney World wedding but it will be a little bit disney! We knew we wanted a Disney theme but didn't really want it to look like a kid's birthday party. We threw around some ideas, mickey and minnie, cinderella, etc. Finally we came up with idea to base the theme of our wedding on Wishes, the MK fireworks show. Here's how we're going to do it.

Cake - We're going to get a cake with some sort of star theme on it. Haven't met with the baker yet but I printed some ideas from the net!

Wedding Song - When You Wish Upon a Star, of course!! But to make it more personal and not so cheesy, we are having Billy Joel's version from the 90's tv special, Simply Mad About the Mouse. We've seen Billy Joel in concert a couple of times and, although we didn't even know each other at the time, we've talked about how we both enjoyed that special when it was on t.v.

Favors - Instead of favors we are going to donate to Make a Wish.

Centerpieces (my favorite part!)) - We are having Disney snowglobes and each one will be decorated with star garland and tulle and a ribbon stating a "wish" from that movie. Confused yet? Here are the two practice ones that we've done so far.

This one is for Cinderella but it's not exactly done. We ran out of tulle so it will be a little more filled in.

I absolutely LOVE how they came out!! I'm waiting until school gets out to put the other ones together. I know it's going to be a total pain getting the globes and bases to the reception hall. Luckily, my friend who helped me put them together volunteered to go to the hall early to make sure they are set up properly.

Now, I don't want to do TOO much wedding so I thought I'd get it all out of the way tonight. Here's my dress!!

OKAY! That's it for wedding for now! I just had to get it out of the way....

I could do with more wedding stuff hehehe

I love the centerpieces. They are so unique!

And the dress...wow!! It makes you look like a princess :)

Hi Ellen! :wave2: Thanks for joining! I am SOO excited to stay at the Poly. I'm still trying to decide how to reveal the surprise. :confused3

Yes, my arms are quite long but it also took years and years of practice to be able to frame the shot so that we're both in the middle and so that I don't have a double chin! It's an art form, really. :rotfl: I think it has more to do with my OCD that I have to be in charge of everything combined with the fact that I love taking pictures. I swear, I'm going to keep my camera in my bra on my wedding day. :bride: Do you think it would be inappropriate to take it out and get a shot of the two of us on the alter during the ceremony??

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:Actually I think you SHOULD do that- it would make your wedding VERY unique! I don't know about pulling it out of your bra, though- the kids from your class (are you inviting them to the service?) might get confused!! Maybe your MOH could hold it with her bouquet? Besides, if you DON'T do it- you'll never have that special picture only YOU can take!:bride:

Ok- I just caught up on your wedding posts- can i just say- :worship::worship::worship::worship::worship::worship: The centerpieces- GORGEOUS!!!!!!! LOVE THEM!!!!! And you will be stunning in your dress- I LOVE the tulle! And what an amazing idea to donate to MAW instead of spending all that $$ on favors! Just wonderful!

I was totally kidding about that but now I actually think I might have to do it!!True, I suppose some of my students will go to the church. It's in Perth Amboy so I don't know how many parents will want to make the trek...you can come if you're going to be around!!!

Why, thank you!!!!!!

Yes I absolutely LOVE the centerpieces too and I have to give credit to the people on the creativity board for some ideas to get the words on the ribbon. I was totally stumped on that one but the DIS is good for everything!!

Yeah, I always throw away wedding favors so we thought we should put the money to better use.

What church in Perth Amboy? I was born there, my Grandmother was one of the founders of the Hungarian Reformed Church (where I was baptized and my parents were married) and my Aunt is in the rosary society at her church there- and of course if you're inviting me I would love to come see you walk down the aisle!!! I'll post the pics on your TR while you're enjoying your reception! :goodvibes And it is sooo cute when teachers invite their kids to the church- I've gone to 2 weddings with my boys, both times it was all girls and my sons! But it makes for a GREAT photo!!

I would LOVE you to come! That would be awesome!

Our ceremony is at Holy Trinity at 315 Lawrie Street NOT to be confused with Holy Cross at 351 Lawrie Street. I say that because up until last week, I didn't know they were two different churches. I figured it out when I was doing the wording for my invitation. It took me about 10 minutes to realize they are different churches! That could have been a potential disaster!!

We're doing it there because Tom's cousin is the pastor there. (And it's gorgeous!)

(Do you see what I do during my lunch and break periods at work?)

Well, send me the specifics and I will do my VERY BEST to come to church that day! :goodvibes It would be the BIGGEST Dis-honor I can think of!!:flower3: And I am totally serious about posting the pics right when I get home from the church!

Oh- and I'd be doing the SAME THING at lunch and on breaks. :thumbsup2

YAY!! Thanks for joining!!

The ribbon....like I said, I had help from the ladies on the creativity board. I just happened to be in Michaels in January when all the holiday ribbon was on sale. There were a bunch of rolls of this beautiful white ribbon that was wide enough and had wire on the top and bottom. I didn't even know I looking for it until I found it! It was perfect! Then I printed the saying from my computer onto this think transparent paper (I think it's called vellum) and cut it to ribbon size. Then I ran it through my new favorite thing, a xyron machine, that turns the vellum into a sticker. Peel off the back and stick it to the ribbon! Then because the ribbon has wire in it, I'm able to bend it around the tulle. Way easier than I thought it was going to be when I first got the idea in my head. I had no idea how I was going to do it but it turned out exatly how I imagined it. :thumbsup2

Okay, having nothing to do with the wedding, Disney trip or Disney cruise I just have to say that I am going to one of my favorite restaurants tonight...Jose Tejas!!! Delicious cheese enchiladas, frozen margaritas ans warm chips and salsa!!! We used to eat there once a week bu since we're trying to "be good" for the wedding and trip, it's been a few weeks. But it's Tom's b-day today so we're going!! The best part, besides being delicious, is that it's so cheap! I don't think we've ever had more than a $30 bill and that's including drinks.

Anyone near exit 129 on the Garden State parkway HAS to go to this restaurant if you've never been before! Ellen, have you been?
