Just a heads up for those of you honeymooning at WDW in the near future. WDW is completely out of Bride and Groom Ears. According to WDW information, there is no word on when they will have the again in stock. The Bride Ears Headbands are still available.

There are some Groom Ears available on Disney Shopping . com.

Disney Shopping does not have the top hat type hat for the groom though.

A friend of mine went to every park, hotel, and Downtown Disney looking for the groom top hat for me - and couldn't find it at all. Each location said "we're out". Several told her to try Disney shopping online but I've searched and nothing.

I'm contemplating making one for DH. :)

There are currently 3 or the actual top hats on eBay and 1 of the newer tux style. They might be a little more expensive compared to the original price because they are considered rare.

Disney discontinued the top hat type ears awhile back. Until recently, they had the beanie style groom ears. I did find a couple of the bride ears last night at DTD, but no groom ears at all.

it's really easy to make them, I made them for DH since the top hat style was too small for his head and he didn't like the beanie style. I just bought a groom baseball cap and added some ears. :thumbsup2

My DH was very happy to hear this...figures :lmao: No worries...I bought mine last trip...and plan on wearing them on the plane! He is not a fan of this...oh well...:rotfl2:

I bought ours last trip as well, unfortunately I got quite sick the day before coming home, so DF packed, and squashed the groom hat to make it fit :scared1: it's ok, but not in pristine condition anymore...

I'm relieved! I was told I would HAVE to wear the top hat.. YAY!

Seriously, I dont do top hats.. :) :cool1:

Darn, was hoping to pick up the groom beanie when we're there in a few weeks so I wouldn't have to pay shipping. Guess I'll order it while it's still there (we cannibalizing it to make a groom cap...DF also doesn't want to wear the beanie and the top hat is too small).

Also, if you're going the homemade baseball cap route, you can just use regular cheap-o mouse ears.

Here are the instructions for how we made our bride and groom baseball caps:

I had bought them in july and when we wore them last week dh was stopped several times and was asked where he had found the top hat. I had no idea the parks/resorts were all out. I'd suggest eBay or make your own. Baseball caps may be the way to go. The headband was uncomfortable by the end of the day. And the hat was really hot.

I just caved and bought them on ebay...

THANK YOU!!! THANKS YOU!!!! THANK YOU!!!:worship::worship:

I LOVE THESE SOOOO MUCH!! I'm def going to make these for DF and I, as he will wear a ball cap and not those other mickey ears!! Wait until I show him he had no way out or an excuse!!! hahahahahhaa:lmao::lmao:

:rotfl2:

So glad you found a solution. The caps really are more practical than the headband and top hat, and they attract just as much attention!

OK, I did a little investigating because, in my earlier research, Disney kept telling me that the groom ear top hat had not been discontinued and was one of their top sellers. I ended up speaking with Disney's Manager of Merchandise Synergy, Events, and Communication to get the definitive answer. It turns out that the newish beanie style (the one with the tuxedo front and mini top hat) is considered a "reimagining" of the old top hat with attached ears. Which is to say the top hat WAS discontinued a while back, they just don't use the term "discontinued," so that's where the confusion has been all this time.

She also did some checking with Merchandising and was told that all three remaining styles—bride beanie, groom beanie, and bride headband—are "on the floor" now at Walt Disney World. Maybe someone who's there now will come along and report on that....

Supposedly the groom beanie is very popular, although I only saw one guy wearing one among all the wedding couples I spotted at WDW a few weeks ago. But this perceived popularity means they have no plans to discontinue any of the three remaining styles.

we couldn't find any of these when we went in august, not that i probably would have warn them. they're cute, but we had a 'mr and mrs' pin each, and we also had the 'lets celebrate' badges, which got noticed by lots of the CMs. very impressed :D

I will be going to DTD tomorrow. I will check to see if I can find them and report back.

I love the idea of the ball caps. They do look more comfortable. Thanks for the info.
